I am having an issue with my Z3 Comact where I sometimes get a "bounce back" effect when swiping through things such as home screens and photos, eventhough I've not reached the end or the start. It happens at irregular intervals. Some times I need to swipe up to three or four times in a row before a successful swipe (but that's rather rare).
What's causing this? Is it a known issue to Sony? Is it a firmware issue? If so, has it been addressed in a newer firmware version? I am currently at 23.0.A.2.93, the latest in my region.

price for new Z3C in my country are 414€ dude
I waiting for firmware fix too because I cant type text and scrolling on this phone... I have T9 - 1ABC 2DEF keyboard layout and many times screen unresponsive because finger are too close to the LCD, Im nervous from this
Hi, I was wondering if the issue still persists (also with the newest firmware)?
I noticed some touch screen issues (like "phantom clicks", random scrolling to the top of the page and then scrolling down again, very serious lock screen issues) yesterday.
I am still running the .93 firmware as my PC doesn't have enough space to run the update, but I have a firmware update waiting and I hope I'll be able to perform it within this week.
I also noticed that I can do scrolling without actually touching the screen.
Another issue (I don't know if they are related) is the fact that the "diagnosis/trouble shooting" tool in the "about phone" section (not sure wheter it is called that way in the English menu) always crashes when I try to start it. Anyone knows anything about that?
Talking about software issues: somehow sometimes the Z3c doesn't notify me about new text messages (it shows a notificiation sign in the notification bar, but it doesn't vibrate or play a notification sound).
Thanks in advance everybody!
Hi, I have the same bounce-back effect problem. Also, I sometimes need to tap the application icon/button twice to open the application or to perform the action. Really frustrated. I would expect the top quality for the $700 phone - no compromises are acceptable for such a price. I don't understand why the Sony testing department didn't notice these problems - I noticed them after the first hours of using the phone.
@Sony: I am sure that there is someone reading this forum. Please let us know about your opinion. Thanks. Petr
My reply in another thread...hope this works for people...

I had these issues which were becoming more frequent, but have fixed it.
Go to Settings - Language & input - Xperia keyboard config and turn off the Gestrure input.
Also to to Accessubility - Touch & hold delay - change this to Medium (it'll be on short as default)
It's probably more to do with the touch and hold delay, but I haven't had an issue since. It was screwing up my alarm clock when I needed to silence it which was annoying because you have to drag the screen to silence it. I actually downloaded a different alarm clock app, but that was probably unnecessory. Definitely a software issue.
Hope that helps!
No, Smithy81, it doesn't help. And why would it if those settings are for something completely different. Touch&Hold delay is the thing you do when you move your app to another place on a homescreen. Its not about touch sensitivity at all.
So yeah, I have the same issues its driving me crazy and all I really want right now is clarification - is it a hardware or software problem?
Is there a place to get official explanations by Sony Mobile? Because I can still return the phone and get money back.
What about all the quality control this day? Is Sony on the level with some chinese B-brand? Magnetic connectors falling apart, hairline cracks on a backglass and spiderwebs after overheating, touchscreen is lagging in 2014! What have I bought? Is Apple and Samsung really only our 2 options?
Some people are saying that this has improved after the 23.0.1.A.5.77 update; I haven't received that update yet, so I'm very curious!
i fixed mine its purely phone settings ill update to what settings after it worked for a few days
ok i think its working just fine for a few days now here are the steps:
1. shut down phone and restart (it will fix the prob temporarily)
2 go to AVG antivirus download the cleaner and clean all cache (i mean all)
3 last step go to AVG performance tab choose task killer then go to processes
search com.sonymobile.touchscreen.touch and remove it from processes
4 go diagnostics and do test for touchscreen to see if theres still spikes on touch screen
hope it helps *wink*
ow if your wondering its still working for me for about a month now *ciao
