Xperia z2 status bar not sliding down

I bought xperia z2 2 weeks ago. Just today my phone went crazy. The screen started detecting random touches every where _ghost touches_. I switched it off several times until the problem was solved . But apparently a new problem appeared. Now I can't scroll down the notification bar. I went to diagnostics where I could test the device. I tested the touch input and surprisingly the status bar area detects nothing at all. The screen works responds properly except for the upper most part ( status bar area). So I guess that this is a software problem . I tried restarting the device several times but it never worked. I hope I'll find a solution.

Hold power button and volume up button till device vibrates 3 times then start device again should work perfectly make sure you wipe screen with cotton cloth before you restart

Nope dm841 I tried it doesn't work at all...same probs notification bar doesn't come.down:-(

Have you tried checking the Diagnostics via: Settings > About Phone > Diagnostics > Test Device and confirm the touchscreen results.

Hi @armiamenassa could you carefully check that there are no fine cracks in the top part of the screen......i have heard of some screens not working in certain areas if there is a very fine crack in the screen 

Probably best to have it switched off so the screen is black & gently/slowly tilt it back & forward a few times

@dandy63 but the status bar is sliding down when i rotate the screen!

Im facing the same problem, and it seems that SONY is just a seller and not responsible about the problems of their products.

I even checked  the "Show touches" in Settings-> developer options. and i was surprised. some randome touches appear on the 1st upper quarter of the screen. So i cant use my Xperia Z2 at all.

I've got the same problem, but after lollipop update notification bar is working on lock screen, but does not come down after unlocking the phone

I am having same problem with my z3 dual and I already ran the repair on PC companion but the problem is still there what is the solution
