Sony Xperia Z5 Compact has an echo when making calls

Hi,

I have a brand new Sony Xperia Z5 Compact,
when I make/receive calls, the person at the other end has an echo from my phone.
THIS is not the case using a bluetooth device to make the calls with.

Please advice what to do ?

Yup, same issue with echo and bad distortion on my side. Sent my phone in for repairs in Feb 2016 and they replaced some parts. It worked fine for the first few weeks, then started with the echo again. This is very disappointing from Sony's side. I'm going to fight for a new one, if not a Z5 premium. Mine's from Vodacom / South Africa

A little update, after several software updates that did not help and still having the same issues

I decided to give up the phone for repair. I just got it back yesterday Tuesday, and until now

no complaints from the people I talk to over the phone. (Was very bad before I got it repaired)

They replaced the two microphones and some other small parts.

I will return with news if something new happens.

I got exactly the same the same problem here (France) and it's an absolute shame from Sony !!

I bought the Z5C end of February and I discover this echo problem couple of days after when everybody was complaining about having an echo.

The phone has been sent for repair and came back 3 weeks later but the device was not even able to read SIM card... It has been sent for the second time and came back more than 1 month later and it's still not working properly !!

While calling the cusomer service, I have been told to send it again (no spare phone available...) and wait for the phone to come back again from the reparation center. Customer service offer to provide me some earphone as compensation : 10€ of compensation for more than 2 months issues is not what I call a compensation !

Sony, pay high, wait long, get nothing !

I can't give my phone in for repair because I know besides that I am going to wait for ages to get it back, I am not sure if I am going to get it back in the state I handed it in...  

How do I fight for a other model? One size bigger...

Oh boy, this is so bad for me.... I simply love the compact's size.

Hey 

I have the same problem.
Every incoming and outgoing call causes an echo on the other caller.
I have my Z5C on the release of the phone but the problem started
2/5 months ago.

I brought the phone 2 to the store where i bought it and they send send them up for repair
and still have the same problem. They have repaced 2 times some parts ( not sure witch parts )
en they have updated the phone. 

Im loosing my hope now :S

For me i get the echo when i dial a number and put on speakerphone to listen for other party to pick up. When they answer if i do nothing they have an echo. If i take off speakerphone and re enable they report the echo disappears.

Mind you if i take off speakerphone to speak normally, there are times where the mic stops working and they can't hear me at all.

All these issues appear to be related to noise cancellation/secondary mic. Marshmallow update has removed ability to turn off this feature.

The fact my Z5 compact has these problems with basic call functionality makes me believe Sony is INCOMPETENT.

I cannot believe that sony can make such mistake, I purchased Sony z5 compact on EBay and cannot even return.

Just want to know if you solved the ECHO problem??

I was using sony since I remember, but I am very DISSAPOINTED by Z5 Compact.

I have read the reviews , the update to Echo problem is going to be in December!!! So what am I going to do with the phone which I have paid big price???
