I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion..

Before repairing your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to.
How to backup?

If the issue should still remain I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

Hi Samuel

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately repairing the software through PC Companion did not help,

issue remains the same.

I will try to bring it to a the seller where I bought it,
allthough I don't think this will make any difference

since I can read in sonymobile forum, that this is a
common issue with Sony Xperia phones.
What have Sone done to fix this problem with other
Xperia models ?

Try turning microphone noise suppression on and then test a phone call, if it's already on by default try turning it off and testing.

Is it only to landline numbers? if so it could an issue with your network provider.

Which country are you from? I have owned the z5 compact for two months and sometimes my friends complains about the echo. I have never experiended something like this before with any of the other three sony phones that I have owned. Havent tryed the fix option as mentioned above, but going to try it. It does however not happend often.

I had the exact same issue. First repair they changed the primary microphone. Got it back anbd the issue was not solved. Second repair they changed the secoandary microphone. That fixed the echo issue, but now every call breaks up after about 30 seconds. So the phone is again unusable. So if you turn it back, I would fight like a wounded lion for the right to a new phone, don't count on them being able to repair it!

Hi!

I have the same issue on my relatively (2 weeks) new Sony Xperia Z5 Compact. The receiver has a 1s delayed echo of their own voice for the first ~30s of the call. This seems to affect both land lines and cellphone callers. I have tried to change most of the call/voice settings with no success. I have tried to call during safe mode and it was no difference.

Are there 2 microphones in the phone? Could it make sense that one of them (as mentioned above) could pick up the sound of the other caller and generate the echo?

I also have the exact same model+version+kernel numbers as the original poster, if that helps.

That is the exact same as me. The first 10-30 secunds it have an echo and it will sort itself out. But its annoying when it happen. And as stated above, I't did never happend on my old z1 phone. Seems like this is indeed a z5 compact issiue and hopefully sony will investigate this.
