FM Radio, unable to tune radio channel

I can't tune a single channel with the FM Radio app, no matter what  headset I try (all of which worked fine with the Z1C). Changing region, resetting app data, full factory reset, repair via PC Companion = no change.

Anyone else having problems, or do I have a dud? I'm dreading it's the same problem as this one reported by Z1C users and that I can expect the same terrible repair service as described by them:

Please Sony tell me no (and why oh why didn't I just order from Amazon).

Disabling ok google for me was not enough. After restarting the device it worked fine.

It's not a bug regarding Google Now and that it's not working and/or no sound when using the FM Radio. It's a normal behavior of your Xperia device, since the Google Now application uses the microphone to recognize voice commands. In this case, your Xperia device stops all sounds in order to get the best quality for voice recognition.

It 'just what you say. But if I'm listening with headphones, I do not believe that listening to "OK Google" may be disturbed.

It's frustrating need to turn the display every time you change the radio station...

Same issue here, "fixed" with the Google Now tweak.

The FM radio app needs the earphones/headphones plugged in to work so there is never actual sound output from the device and therefore there is no need to mute the device to improve voice recognition.

This is of course a bug/bad implementation related to the Sony's radio app itself, because every other application which play music have no issue at all to do its job while the Google Now voice recognition is running, even without earphones plugged in.

Sorry Hampus but this excuse is far too easy to contradict, it would be a lot nicer if one could hear something like "we already know about the issue and working on a solution" than "yes it just should do it" from an official Sony technician...

Had no problems with the FM-radio until I sent in my Z3c to Sony for repairs (busted screen). Now when I got it back (fixed, upgraded to android 5.1.1 and version 23.4.A.1.200) and an 'all ok' letter.

Now I only get static and it can't find any stations (auto search or manual).

Tried the disable Google trick as suggested above, no result.

Tried clearing cache and app data, no result.

Updated (version 23.4.A.1.232), restarted, tried all above again... No result.

Now, going by the number of posts on various Internet forums this is obviously a known old problem with Sony Xperia phones and for this model (Z3 Compact) it has been complained about for several months...

My question is:

What is Sony doing about correcting this software problem!? If not even official Sony support forums can offer better advice from their admins/techs than 'disable this or that' how could my local retailer be able to fix this problem?

The thought of returning my mobile and hope for a working replacement, after maybe being able to work things out with Sony before my warranty expires, does NOT appeal to me.

Still no other solution to the aforementioned problem than the deactivate Google Now suggestion?
There are several topics on this forum about the Fm Radio app not working and i don't think I'm the only one with this problem not getting solved by disable something that never was activated in the first place...

What is Sony doing about fixing this and when might we see it fixed?

Latest Xperia update from Sony downloaded just a few days ago and FM Radio still doesn't work. I can't be the only one, can I?
Still no response from Sony? No forum admins with any new suggestions about what to do?
Guess when Sony have millions of customers worldwide they can afford to lose one or two...
