Z3 Lollipop update breaks Mirrorlink

Hi,

Since updating from 4.4.4 to 5.0.2, mirror link has stopped working with my Pioneer headunit. Is the Z3 still certified with 5.0.2 update?

It worked perfectly with 4.4.4. I have a Pioneer AVH-X2700BS unit (certified with mirrorlink 1.1).

My head unit keeps telling me to reset the smart device setting.

Indeed Maps is not oficially suported but Sony Mirrorlink Server publishes it.

What's the number of the software version you are running? This also depends on geographical area, you can find it in the settings menu, about phone, Android Version and Build Number. Can you please share these?

Hello,

is there something new on this topic?

I have an Pioneer X3700DAB and my Z3compact only connect with mirrorlink on Android 4.4.4

not newer versions.

Chris

I'm afraid not, the latest information i have is still that Pioneer have admitted they're not within specification and are considering a fix.

What do you mean Sony mirrorlink server publishes it? Maps is not mirrorlink certified, period.

If you connect a Sony phone to a mirrorlink device you will see google maps in the list. This happens only for Sony phones.

@Rickard

What does this have to do with Pioneer since Lollipop Mirrorlink is not working on other devices aswell (like Bosch for example)?

I think you are referring to the same device that user91 and NIZAMI13 has, please see me reply here: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z3/Z3-Lollipop-update-breaks-Mirrorlink/m-p/1076894#M27805

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem with my new Suzuki Vitara Infotainment system as user 91 reported.

Is there any news?

Thank you,

My issue seems to be slightly different than the one previously mentioned here. I've bought a new car (Suzuki Vitara) sporting a head unit with MirrorLink support. When connecting the phone to it, the phone recognizes it as a MirrorLink head unit, the car recognizes the phone, all is fine and well. However, when trying to open any of the available apps (such as Settings, Maps, Music, Radio,...) from the head unit, the phone doesn't respond to any of the touch commands from the head unit and thus none of the apps opens. However, when repeatedly tapping the touchscreen, the desired app comes up for a split of a second and then closes. I have tried different USB cables, factory reset of the phone, repairing it via the PC companion, with no success. Other phones supporting MirrorLink work with the head unit without problems (HTC for example). The phone is running the latest .546 Software.

After many unsuccessful attempts, I have tried the previous Lollipop firmware (5.0.2 build ending with .28) and suddenly MirrorLink works without problems. All the apps start well, Navigation works, I can control my music from the touch screen of the head unit. In order to experiment a bit more, I rolled back to the latest KitKat firmware (4.4.4) and no issues either.

Since this is obviously some mistake in the latest Lollipop update, my question is if it's an option to fix it in any way or is a fix coming in any of the future updates (should there be any)?

I would highly appreciate if the reply wasn't "wrong head unit" as it is officially MirrorLink 1.1 certified and works both with other phones and older versions of Android (5.0.2 or 4.4.4) on the same phone.

Thank you very much for your reply!

None at all, a SONY representative here said that they are in touch with the manufacturer but that was already some months ago... It might not work at all considering that the newer SONY phones don't support MirrorLink anymore. But I guess we will see with the Marshmallow update.

I just got information that Pioneer plans to release a firmware update soon. Please keep checking Pioneers website for an updated firmware.
