Hi,
Since updating from 4.4.4 to 5.0.2, mirror link has stopped working with my Pioneer headunit. Is the Z3 still certified with 5.0.2 update?
It worked perfectly with 4.4.4. I have a Pioneer AVH-X2700BS unit (certified with mirrorlink 1.1).
My head unit keeps telling me to reset the smart device setting.
Just tried to repair my phone software. It did not fix the mirrorlink issue. Frustrating....
I have the same situation on my Z3 Compact. Sony ask me to send my device to assistence. kkkkkk.. I Cellphone is Ok the problem is the software, how hard to understand this?
Sony Z3 Compact (5.1.1)
Pioneer AVH-X5780TV

Can see this is a ooold problem not been solved by Sony.
I bought a Z3 with mirror link certified to my certified Pioneer-X7700BT a couple of weeks ago, at first test it worked with mirrorlink but after the first update to 5.0.2 build 23.1.A.0.690 it dont work anymore.
Tought maybe been fixed in the next minnor update build 23.1.A.1.28 - BUT NO
Next hope for a solution with the next and believe newest update 5.1.1 build 23.4.A.0.546 - BUT NO
So the only solution seem to be to reset to android 4.4.4, that is like no support at all Sony!!!!!
Sony. Plsss.
Many users still have de same problem with Lollipop update.
We need to have this bug fix!!! I both Sony Z3 compact because the Mirrorlink and know it is not workin anymore.
I'm sorry to say that we don't have any news about a fix from Pioneer yet regarding this issue.
This is not an issue with the phones software so i'm afraid all we can do is wait for a fix from Pioneer. Our developers have been in contact with Pioneer and Pioneer have admitted that they are not within specifications. The issue also affects other brands.
Rickard,
Can you tell us why the mirrorlink works very fine on Android Kitkat and stop working after de Lollipop update? Our Sony was working out off the specifications before the Android Update????
Something has change on the android update that cause this bug, i don't like the idea that Pioneer have to fixed something.
Pls help us!!!!!
No, i don't have that kind of technical knowledge about the issue i'm afraid. But as i mentioned before, our developers have been in contact with Pioneer and they have admitted the issue is on their end and this issue also affects phones from other brands.
My issue seems to be slightly different than the one previously mentioned here. I've bought a new car (Suzuki Vitara) sporting a head unit with MirrorLink support. When connecting the phone to it, the phone recognizes it as a MirrorLink head unit, the car recognizes the phone, all is fine and well. However, when trying to open any of the available apps (such as Settings, Maps, Music, Radio,...) from the head unit, the phone doesn't respond to any of the touch commands from the head unit and thus none of the apps opens. However, when repeatedly tapping the touchscreen, the desired app comes up for a split of a second and then closes. I have tried different USB cables, factory reset of the phone, repairing it via the PC companion, with no success. Other phones supporting MirrorLink work with the head unit without problems (HTC for example). The phone is running the latest .546 Software.
After many unsuccessful attempts, I have tried the previous Lollipop firmware (5.0.2 build ending with .28) and suddenly MirrorLink works without problems. All the apps start well, Navigation works, I can control my music from the touch screen of the head unit. In order to experiment a bit more, I rolled back to the latest KitKat firmware (4.4.4) and no issues either.
Since this is obviously some mistake in the latest Lollipop update, my question is if it's an option to fix it in any way or is a fix coming in any of the future updates (should there be any)?
I would highly appreciate if the reply wasn't "wrong head unit" as it is officially MirrorLink 1.1 certified and works both with other phones and older versions of Android (5.0.2 or 4.4.4) on the same phone.
Thank you very much for your reply!
