My Xperia U is going worse day by day. I've already filled the poll. The touchscreen has dead spots and some zones are loosing sensitivity.

Sony doesn't have an answer for that? 90% of Xperia U users seem to have this problems...

Touch responce is experiencing laggs. As per my research, since touch-screen CMOS pannel is not dead for particular point (no consistancy with failure to understand the touch at any particular part of the screen), there must be some processing lag. To confirm the processing lag, I set my phone to a live wallpaper and attempted swipes of home screen -

- The transition of home screens is not subtle

- The swipe/touch fails to respond if there are successive attempts within 1 second

- Same problem occurs while typing with on-screen keyboard (both portrait and landscape)

On contacting the service centre regarding this issue they suggested f/w upgrade, since there's no such upgrade available at the moment, I tried repair phone option. After repairing my phone 3 times, I think I shall wait for ICS; since I am pretty sure, Sony will not claim any hw issue with this...

I think you are absolutely ryt.. I guess may be its because of humidity on the inside of the panel that may b causing the failure of CMOS panel. just like the touchscreen doesnt work whn there are some drops of water..

well whatever may be the reason... need sony guys to come up with some solution. typing is a real headache.... its worse than typing on resistive touch. Need some solution asap.

I may include, i have updated to ICS but it doesnt solve the problem. degraded back to GB .. did a factory reset, but nothin worked.

if i send mine to the sony center....will they fix it for free? it is still under warranty. but i havent even had it for a year and this happened i also have a problem with my camera having a purple spot as well Perservering_Face if they replace everything....how long do you all think it will last? and also, do they give you a replacement phone while yours is getting fixed? i hope that when they fix it, it lasts at least until august next year...then i shall get rid of this thing and buy a new one. if the problem happens again after getting it fixed...then im stuffed. NOT HAPPY. this was an excellent phone when i first got it and now...i would rather have my old crappy non-touchscreen, 1.3 megapixel phone again T_T seriousky, next year i will get a new phone....and it will most probably be an iphone. :@

here is how it looks like in my case...

The region left to a verticle line had become completely unresponsive except a small portion near the lower left corner. Build is 6.1.1.B.1.1.0.

Hi guyz...Ihave a good news for u all who have the touch problem.I also had this issue recently. I even had 6 months left with my warrenty. But the shop wich I bought the 4n denied reparing the phone, instead they offerd me a software reset. I knew exactly that the prolm is a hardware matter. Then I took it to a technician known to me & he promised me to replace the touch. Luckly it took only 3 days & it jz cost me less than 15$.Now the 4n works like a brand new phone. Im so happy.
