battery problem

my XU had gingerbread on it
even then it consumes a lot of battery
i have to charge it almost thrice to four times a day
even in the night, on standby, it consumes 25 to 30 of the battery which i check the next day mornin
can anyone suggest me some solution for it
maybe some app or anythin which will help
and if i upgrade to ICS then will it solve the problem by Sony's Extended Standby Mode ???

"Cell standby " refers to the time when cell radio tries to communicate with the towers when your signal is low. Has nothing to do with "standby mode".Lower is better

my os is still GINGERBREAD

and maximum of u r complainin bout the battery issue for ICS
and also many said that the battery worked quite well when it was GINGERBREAD

so can anyone please tell me the settings for gingerbread so that i might also have a good battery life

im running ICS on 1500mAH battery with root enabled and battery calibrated. result is 5 days standby time

My is 7-8 days, ICS, standard battery, without any calibration. I think that calibration is only thing from history. Today's batteries don't need it. It doesn't matter how you are charging it, if you charge for example only 5 minutes plugged on cable when you are copying photos to comp... after that nothing, and after few days charge to 80% and so on. Battery has only "number of cycles" which determines it's life. It's an article of consumption today.

If you can manage HW part, you are limited only by Screen shining. This you can reduce by brightness lowering. Everythuing else is SW-related (running apps, where normal user don't need 75% of them)

Mugen Power do a good quality 1500 battery for XU.  Beware the eBay 1500/2000/2800 cheap batteries, they DO NOT have these capacities!

hey finally got a day out of my u with whole day txtin,calls,wifi,n lots f music...

SOLUTION:

i flashed with french ics without ticking the option"exclude baseband" and now my battery doest eat too much even though signal fluctuation occurs...bt my network is not affected due to that and packet data works perfect...

even standby mode works extremely perfect...

facebook app eats a lot of ram and battery so plsssss remove it...

my battery info stats:
