Is there a planned fix in the works for the camera? Presently, the video camera is useless as it stutters and lags horribly. The only video mode that doesn't stutter is Mms which is grainy and low res.
Whenever I run the camera, I ensure all other apps are closed; in case it is a memory issue. I've tried rebooting it and disabling services to no avail.
The still camera also has issues now too. The camera never properly focuses. Each time I try to take a picture, the camera properly focuses in the viewfinder and then takes a blurry picture.
The camera worked fine prior to the last update. I've tried using Google's camera which records okay video, but had the same trouble taking still pictures.

If it helps, when I perform a software repair I always start from scratch without restoring anything but the Google stuff.
Apart my long battle with fm radio and file commander USB OTG, usually, camera and the other things are fine.
Starting from scratch is good because you don't inherit broken files or configurations and, if you get used to, placing icons in your favorite place does not take so long.
I tested the camera (my main problem) before I restored my settings and it still didn't work.
Please edit your response instead of making multiple replies as per the discussion guidelines.
If the software repair has not fixed your issues you may have a physical problem with the camera or lens. Contacy your local support team.
@dubla2dl, it could also just be coincidence that it occurred at the same time. The software repair is the final resort in troubleshooting and if it hasn't resolved the issue the next thing to do is contact your local support team.
You will have to discuss a replacement with your local support team as I don't know what the processes are in your region.
@dubla2dl, I understand, it could definitely be a bug in the firmware. If that is the case these forums and your local support team will help us identify that. We can't just release a patch for an unconfirmed bug, I'm afraid.
I'm noticing as I peruse these forums that I am not alone here. Since purchasing the Z5 Compact and its update to Android 6.0, performance issues have made certain key features of this device useless. Myself along with several other users have contacted support regarding blurry pictures, the cameras inability to focus, laggy video recording, amongst other issues and have not received solutions. Some users who sent their devices in with these problems have been told that the device is working within its parameters. Unfortunately, many of us purchased these devices more than one month prior to the update which caused the issue and we are now beyond our return periods from the retailers we've bought through.
I am starting a list of names on this site and two other forums for those interested in starting a class action lawsuit against Sony to either help us get our devices corrected or to compensate us for our loss of use. Please PM me with your first and last name along with a contact email address. If I get enough names, I will retain an attorney to get the process started.
Many of our requests for help from Sony have gone unanswered or they've been discounted as isolated incidents. We need Sony to understand that we cannot simply be ignored.
