Hello,
I've searched the forum for people with similar issues but couldn't find my exact problem so I made a new post.
Problem:
My phone has trouble with my home wifi. It's connected and it runs smoothly at first but fter a while, after a few hours of sleemode, the internet is really, really slow and fails to load Youtube movies, Facebook or other apps. It can still load up sites but extremely slow. After a reboot the wifi is blazing fast again and no troubles until I put it in sleepmode for a while.
Settings:
I enabled stamina mode but disabled the option that turns of wifi when the phone is inactive. I also enabled background queue and disabled the 'eco wifi' function in settings menu.
Wrap-up
After a few hours of sleep mode wifi is not usable until I reboot. I don't want to reboot my phone this often for my wifi to work.
Is anyone else having this problem? Does anybody know a solution?
Ps. Router is working fine with all other devices and uses b/g/n, WPA2 (without weird characters).

Thanks again Rickard for the quick response. Turns out the problem is related to 'Wifi optimization' (think that's what it's called in English) in the Wifi settings. Since I turned it off I haven't been able to replicate the problem.
It should save battery but it's not really saving when you're unable to use wifi anymore 😛 Thanks again for the response!
Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
Sorry to hear that you're having issues with WiFi.
Does the same thing happen if you disable Stamina in your phone?
If the same thing happens with Stamina off, could you also test this with the phone in safe mode and let me know what happens?
Thanks for the reply. Switching off stamina mode doesn't make any diference. I have another phone and it does not have any problems witth the wifi when the Xperia does.
I will try safe mode. The problem occurs after a few hours of standby so I have to wait and see what happens in safe mode.
Edit: In safe mode the wifi is fine. Even after 5 hours in deep sleep. What can be the problem?
If it doesn't happen in safe mode this indicates that the issue is caused by an app that you've installed. But it's a bit strange that an app could cause this. Has it been like this since you got the phone or did it start afterwards when you began to install apps? Would it be possible for you to try with another network? if you have another Android phone you could for example set that up as a hotspot.

Glad to hear that you found a solution :smileysmileythumbsup:
Could you also let me know what router you have, firmware version in it and what security you're using?
