As the titles says, I'd like to know which brand of glass is seated on the Xperia Z3 compact, for front as well as rear? Or is it just generic tempered glass?

Amazing!
You are the exception of the rules
As you have read all these threads with the broken glass you are very lucky!
Hope you'll never have the same problem.
Just to say, I've nerver seen so weak glass. On my Z3 compact, the front glass broke while in my pocket probably from bending after 2 weeks of ownership. The rear glass broke after a drop of not even 2 feet on the wood floor, 2 days later. Ok there was no cover yet, but i dropped my old nokia lumia while walking on concrete. It made several bounces and only had a few little ligth marks on a corner... I would expect a lttle more durability for such expensive sony device. And yeah, you can say bye to your waterproofing!
I have lots of friends that have regulary dropped phones of all makes and cracked the glass, in all the times I have had new phones (MANY) I have NEVER had a problem. The Z3 is just fine, if your clumsy enough to drop it, bash it, its YOUR fault not the phones.
Go buy insurence next time !
I somewhere read that Z3 uses sapphire glass.
If Sony itself isnt sure then to whom are we suppose to turn??

Sony do, but these kids dont know
I just fitted one of those tempered glass protector.. whew no bubbles.. so thats that done
this really bother me. z3c i like it, but... the glass is just like iphone 4, which bring up a comparison as if z3c glass is old feature. any thought?
but it doesn't mean i support the iphone cycle to iphone 6, which i still prefer z3c
Not sure i understand your query - Are you saying the the glass is the same? worse or better?
