Dear Sir/Madam,
I have been experiencing a peculiar issue with my xperia z1 [IMEI removed] after it got OTA upgrade to 14.5.A.0.270 that I would like to bring to your notice.
The voice quality during call in GSM mode is found deteriorated. Although I can hear the other person properly but the person from the other end can't hear me properly. Outgoing voice always breaks and generates echoes or waves. The problem instantly disappears if I change to WCDMA mode from GSM. In GSM also the problem disappears if I use a headphone or bluetooth headphone instead of built in mic. But in wcdma mode built in mic also works fine.
I am really disappointed as this can't be expected from a leading pioneer electronics goods provider like sony that also with a flagship product like xperia z 1. I have visited service centre also, reinstalled software but same problem persists.
After going through internet I came to know that many users are experiencing the same issue. I would like to request you kindly provide required and appropriate resolution by attending the issue at the earliest.
Regards,
DIPANKAR SAIKIA

Hai friends, I am from India I purchased a Sony z1 10 months with the cost of 33000 RS. It was working fine but suddenly, I have started facing issue with the microphone. I can hear the voice from other side who is speaking but when I speak my voice will be breaking and the other side party cannot hear my voice full of echo. I have sent my mobile to Sony service center for 3 times with the same problem but they said they have replaced the mic on my mobile but the issue is the same. I just followed the below steps and now my issue is solved. By Disabling "Microphone noise suppression" and "Speaker voice enhancement" from call settings... You can try this but one thing Sony is nothing they won't care there customers and from now I am a ditractor of Sony please dont purchase any Sony mobile or else you will face lot of issues and remember there is no one to rectify your issues. Sony you just care for money not the customers...... And the service tech idiots does not know anything atleast what makes the issues resolve. And thank you my friends i found the resolution from here so posting this comment so that it might help you.
Thanks, that solved the problem for me.
We have found an issue in a patch from a third party that we believe is causing poor sound for the counterpart during calls for some users. It's fixed in the next software update that we plan to start rolling out in a near future.
