Can't install Android 6.0.1 update

Dear Friends

I have a Xperia Z3 D6603 . Yesterday I got the message that the system update is ready to be downloaded and installed in order to update the device android 5.1.1 to 6.0.1. I downloaded the update (for about 976 Mb) but as soon as the update finished I got again the message that the system update is available !!!! by clicking it started to download again the system update !!!! I have tested it several times since yesterday and each time as soon as the download finishes , I get the message again and there is no option other than downloading it again without installing !!!!

Would you please help me to fix this problem ?

Yes my build number is the same as the above commenter 23.4.A.1.264

So your current build number is 23.4.A.1.264 and you get a notification of an update with build number?

@uliwooly It doesn't specifically mention a build number in the notification. I've taken a screenshot in case it would help but don't know if I can add it here? I have lollipop at the moment and it's definitely telling me to update to marshmallow. Thanks.

Attempted to update several times. I download the update and it gets to tge end but then just asks me to update again?

I haven't done anything different to before and it's installed ok on the 4th attempt. Sorry to anyone with the same problem, looks like it just solved itself so I can't tell you something different to try

i was notify by my phone that an update to marshmallow is available.but when i finish my download on the pc its starts all over again

Hi,

I Recently got a new Z3 Handset as a replacement for my damaged one from my insurance.

When i first turned it on, I obviously expected Software update as the phone would have been sat on a shelf in a warehouse for a while now.

I got a notification saying the following.

Xperia System Update.
Ready to install
Sony Mobile communications.

I choose to install it and get the usual Green Android Green logo while the new version of android is installing, it then goes on to optimise all my apps and the update completes.

However, minutes later, its starts re-downloading the Android update again, giving me the same notification as above when it has downloaded.
I chose to install it and it repeats the update process.

I have done this 4 times now as i wondered if android needs to update to the latest version by stepping through the older releases incrementally.

I seem to be stuck in some sort of Android update loop.

Please can anybdy help me?

Hi,

I have a Z3 with this customization: 1288-7914 (Central Europe 1). I live in Hungary but I didn't want to buy a phone with SIM lock. But those phones have had Marshmallow yet. It is very annoying. I have to use 23.4.A.1.264.
