Ads on lock screen

I've had my Xperia Z5 compact for a few months now however! Over the last few days turning it on (after its been dormant for more than a few minutes) is generating an advert I have to swipe to get back to the actual lock screen. Anyone know how to stop it? I've tried clearing history from chrome and that hasn't worked.

Had it in safe mode for a few hours yesterday and it's definitely OK and not doing it in safe mode!

In this case, it's some apps you have installed behaving like this. @MrsTea

Any idea how to stop it? I've not installed anything recently? So if it's an existing account how do I identify it?

It might be from one of your older apps, perhaps an antivirus or something that has phone access.

Wow, that's new: Spam on lock screen. Some people would never have learned to program...

If the ads is a notification then long press that notification will show an "info" button that will allow you to see what's the app and disable notifications.

If not, just think about that maybe you have not installed nothing new, but an app that is already on your phone maybe was updated. Make a list of suspected apps and try to uninstall one by one.

That's why I don't install too much apps. The way it got money is with spam and some apps have a very invasive way to show that spam.

Just to update I've realised it also only happens when on charge! I'm going to go through my apps later
Ivenot got too many so it won't take long. Thanks for the advice
