Xperia ZL Battery replacement

I am using Xperia ZL from last 02 years and was satisfied with it. But now its battery is not giving even 40% backup. I went to Authorized Service center at Jaipur and was returned with the reply that Sony is not supplying battery for this model. Only help we can do is that we can replace your phone with new ZL for 13000.
Now I am unable to understand that why these type of issues are created. If Sony can't provide even basic spare part like battery how can I except that they will provide other parts. I also enquired from Mumbai but they are saying the same thing. Its getting really frustrating.
Please help or I will have to avoid Sony from now onwards.

Sorry to hear that the service location can't replace your battery.

We do replace batteries in Xperia ZL but not all service locations may be able to do this in which case they may offer a replacement unit instead.

I see you sent your local Sony Xperia support an email regarding this as well so i recommend that you wait for them to respond to see what options you have.

As warranty and repairs is handled at a local level by the Sony Xperia support in your country i'm afraid i don't have that kind of information. Your local Sony Xperia support should be able to assist you with this information though.

what about the payment the service shops are asking for? its sony's fault to provide us with such a bummer product which can not even handle an update and then the battery goes blam - dead , and now they ask for further money, here the service shops are asking for 9000 rs for a new set, but wheres my fault and why should i pay? here also service shops in chandigarh , India are not able to replace the battries.

Let it be a lesson for you. Never buy a phone with fixed battery whether it's Sony, Samsung or iphone until or unless you replace your phone every 2-3yrs or are willing to shed out a mullah for a small battery replacement. I replaced my battery in Xperia ZR for a mere Rs650 and that too was original with manufacturer warranty.

Had both options available ZL and ZR at the time of buying. The sole reason for selecting ZR was the user replaceble battery. Although ZR have it's own share of serious issues with the blutooth and all but still atleast I am not at the mercy of Sony to replace a mere battery for the cost of a full handset.

The way I see it. You have to pay atleast Rs9k for battery replaced handset.... Lol

These are expensive chinese made use and throw handsets.

Hey can you tell me where did you bought your battery from?
I have an xperia ZL which is 3 years old and its battery is dying. Earlier it shut down at 8 then 12 and so on. It shuts off without notification or proper shut down procedure at around 40% now.
So, In a way, im only getting 60% of the total capacity.
I hope the abrupt shutting off is not damaging to the phone internals.
I live in new delhi. Hoping i can get original battery here atleast.
