Z5 compact headphone volume up, system ui problems

Hello when I try to turn my volume up on mii phone when my headphones are plugged in mii system ui pops up saying it's not working & then locks my screen. Deleted mii background too, but I kno that's because my system ui not working. Is there a fix for this??

can you take a screenshot if this problem shows up?

try to clear smart connect app

settings>apps>smartconnect>clear data

also try to clear Xperia Home

settings>apps>Xperia home>clear data

Hi @dp2,

I am sorry to hear about that.

First I would suggest that you troubleshoot the way @nolramlb suggested, but in addition you may also try to see if the same happens in safe mode. Let us know how it behaves once you've tried that.

I cleared out both apps like you suggested, no difference, even restarted my phone so it would stay. But I have noticed that I can turn the volume down and then when I try to turn it back up it will only go to the halfway point. So I went to the smart connect app and went to settings and turned the volume all the way up so when I put my headphones back in the volume will be louder. Still no difference 😥. When I try to go past the halfway point that's when I get the ui pop up message and my phone blacks out. I did take a screenshot of it. I'm not sure how to put it in here though. I'm getting ready to try safe mode.

Just tried the safe mode method & the same thing happens. System ui message pops up & then turns mii screen off. I'm guessing this is something Sony did w/the phone to prevent too loud of music thru headphones. Do u have this problem, can you go more than halfway up your volume rocker while your headphones are plugged in??

And the funny thing is it didn't happen straight away but a week after the update...
