Z5 DSEE HX & Equalizer can't be used together?

I met the guy who bought Xperia Z5 recently.

He complains about the Equalizer, that can't be used with DSEE HX.

Without DSEE HX, he could hear so much white noise, but with equalizer, white noise goes away, but can't use equalizer.

I know that Xperia phone with DSEE HX (ex. Z2, Z3, Z3+, ...) can use both DSEE HX and Equalizer at the same time. But Z5 doesn't.

Is this Z5's functional fault and can be fixed with new firmware someday?

DSEE HX on : no white noise, but i can't use equalizer

Just look at this picture. When DSEE HX is turn on, everything can't be controlled.

Based on the information you’ve provided the handset seems to be working as intended.

DSEE HX (or DSEE HX Upscaling) is a new audio feature, developed to improve the quality of compressed audio files. It is a further improvement of the Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) integrated in the ClearAudio+ technology featured by nearly all Xperia™ phones and tablets since 2012.

DSEE HX is upscaling the quality of the sound source to near High-Resolution. So it is optimising the the sound settings, which is  something that ClearAudio+ also does but with the ability to refine and restore the audio signal to recreate the subtle high-frequency harmonics that are typically lost in the compression of MP3 and AAC files.

Meaning if you have enabled the automatic sound optimisation of DSEE HX or ClearAudio+ you won’t be able to manually adjust the sound settings in the Equaliser.

But I can't understand why Z2~Z3+ devices are able to use DSEE HX and equalizer at once.

Z4 tablet too can use equaliser and other functions whilst DSEE is active.
This does seem unique to OP / Z5?
