Z Ultra Screen so fragile

Why my Xperia Z Ultra glass is not as tough as said? It didn't have to get fall or hit it with hammer to make it crack. 
This is happened just 2 weeks after I bought my Z Ultra. 

When I come home, I put my ultra in my pocket, then I sit in motorcycle. When I arrived at home, I check my Ultra and then suddenly I found it get cracked in screen. I found not even single scratch in casing, but the screen got crack. The crack is so thin that I couldn't feel the crack with my hand. And the worst is, the touchscreen suddenly not working!

So, my warning to all Z Ultra owner, do not ever put your ultra in your pants pocket.

hello, I was not going to waste your time with a reply but I just wanted to say you have my sympathy and after going to the repair shop in Bangkok today and finding this little store with a sliding door and three Thai ladies sitting at their desks and they could not or would not speak English and they wanted me to leave the phone to put what someone calls the FCC white plastic paper back in the sim card slot.

We did not want to leave it with them and they gave us an address very far away where there are some tech people.

We then went to a mall and found a Sony store and they had the phone with some accessories but not the latest. I figure I need a flip case with battery to protect the phone especially after reading this post. 

My wife says after seeing the service center that I should sell the phone and get something else.

I am tempted to try since I did put a Focus Screen protector front and back figuring that might help.

I spent a month with the phone from Bkk to NYC via Hong Kong and Taipei. The airport had the phones there in Asia but not USA, NYC or SF did not have and service was horrendous even in USA and Narita Airport Japan had not phones there or knowledge or accessories there.

I am writing this in a few sections to warn people of my experience thus far.

I have had no other problems with the phone and bought pants with large pockets for here and my trip to USA and back.

Good luck with Sony but as they told me here service is horrendous in Bangkok for most phones but Samsung and Apple seem to be the best of the worse.

I think the screen size itself makes it fragile. Thats why i still use the leather cover. Although, it spoils the feel of device but it better no to regret later. I myself ride bike with Xperia ZU in my pocket. You need to check with sony repair center in personal

I used leather case when this incident happened. And yes, I brought my z ultra to local sony service center, and yet already more than a month, I haven't got any clear news about my phone.

I hope I got my z ultra cracked because it is defect product so that it wont happen to your phone. Buf, for friendly reminder I suggest you to not really often put your phone into your pocket, more especially when riding bike. Because this incident may happen to you

Sony staffs, PLEASE HELP!

I brought my Z Ultra to service center in Jakarta, Indonesia for about two months ago and until now I haven't gotten any clear news about my phone. Please help following up my issue. Indonesia Sony service center services is so horible, so I think Sony International should pay attention and solve the problems. 

FYI, there is petition in change.org regarding people complain about Sony Mobile Indonesia services. If Sony doesn't want their name become bad, they should take actions.

Hi Sony Staff,

I also have same issue. My self is a very careful user, I rarely take my phone out of its case. Today I noticed a very fine line in the display about 1 cm long trailing to narrow at ends. First I thought it was a scratch but it was not but a very fine line of pixel impairment. But you look very closely you can see some glass got broken above pixels.

Uliwooly you appear to have inserted your own underlined text in red into the quote, or Sony have changed their ad. The ad I see states "Waterproof**, dust resistant and with tough tempered glass this Android smartphone is much tougher than it looks". There is nothing about an anti-shatter film. If you click into the features in then states "this big screen phone can handle whatever life has in store, we designed it to be super durable" and, "Both the front and back panels are made with durable tempered glass, coated with an anti-scratch film". Apparently putting the phone in your pocket isn't something Sony expected life to have in store for us.

What sony claims is utter non sense they are just let me make one point very clear that sony  claims that this phone is dust &water resistant but they dont provide any warranty if the phone gets any problems because of dust & water....secondly this phone should have been named z ultra fragile many of the users are complaining that this phone gets crack on itself but sony always says that this is a physical damage , sony is a company they dont value their customers in the end I would like to say customers BEWARE STOP BUYING SONY

same thing happened two days ago...it has a flip case and din fall. was in my pocket then i removed it only to find an inner line on the screen like a crack not visible, my touch pad doesnt work too.

This is hightime now Sony can no longer deny that the z ultra has defect in their screens , I want all of u to drop  a mail at Kenichiro.hibi@ap.sony.com he is the MD of sony he will for surely listen to your issue and will take necessary action dont forget to mail you contact number to him do mail the contact no. By prefixing the country code.Every body try this it will help
