I got my new Xperia Z and it takes ages to charge and i also noticed when I'm using the device plugged it, it still discharges though it shows charging and its very slow in charging compared to Xperia P. What is the problem? I'm using the original charger with 5v 1.5A output.##
How can i overcome this issue??
someone help me please
I don't know how long exactly it should take to full 100% charge from 0%.
However, for sure you will not reach this point in just about an hour. I will try to examine it (without playing with the phone) and will let you know the results to compare.
Anyone else know how long does it normally takes?
thanks alot, its fine to take long but what worried me was that it was discharging when i was using it while PLUGGED IN. Seems like the Sony charger is not enough to power the device?
I think it depends on what currently you are doing and what brightness do you setup for display
If you are no doing any depanding task like gaming and you do not setup display brightness to high = it should not only power the device, but also slowly charge it. If you are doing any heavy task + 3G data / wifi + display = unfortunately it will slowly discharge + become hot.
I am going sleep. Good night
I was on skype video call with maximum brightness
but plugged in.. so it was still discharging as if the charger is not powerful enough to support the devvice. I still dont get it
the only time I've ever seen the charger not keeping up with discharge was when playing a highend game at full brightness and it was a very slight discharge rate
This phone like all recent Experias has a high capacity fast charging system, it is able to detect the type of charger connected
You have one of 3 problems causing this
An app installed that is interfering with normal OS Function (like a battery manager)
A faulty charger or cable or you're not using the supplied charger (see if you can borrow one)
A faulty phone (very unlikely)
Hello,
be sure to use the original cable. Xperia series is very sensitive to cable quality.
Maybe they measure voltage loss from charger to cable.
I tried several cables ( about 15 diffeferent) but only with original cable and with an cable from Lindy called Cromo my Xperia Z was able to charge at about 1200 to 1400 mA.
Other cables went from 450 up to 700 mA.
Kind regards
Alright then i'm gonna use Xperia P's charger since it is also 5v at 1.5A and if it still creates the problem i will use its data cable as well and then i'll see the results and let you guys know. Thanks for the support
It is also normal that my phone heats alot when charging or while being used? Right now its charging with Xperia P's charger and it kinda produces heat although im not doing anything much on it
