Xperia T Jelly Bean Problems

I have just recently updated my sony xperia t to android 4.1.2 and Now there are many problems:

  1. The battery drain is just mental, it only lasts me a day, whereas with android 4.0.4 it used to last me over 2 days easily
  2. The 'improved' walkman app is just plain rubbish, most of the time when you are listening to a playlist it just will not go onto the next track. You have to press the power button for it to play the next track
  3. The 'smoother' interface in now so rubbish, the is quite a bit of lag in the swipe of the homescreens, whereas with android 4.0.4 it was silky smooth

Can someone please help me?????

I really don't have as much problems with Xperia as written above, but a poor battery life that was promised to get even better than before is true.. 4 hours under charge, phone pulled out... 2 minutes, and it shows 98% ;( month of normal usage, but nothing changes, on 4.0.4 phone was laggy and it used to turn it's self off under charging like some kind of error power-off known basicly from Windows on PCs, but it kept working without charge for 3 days, now it's charged every 10 h 😕 After Jelly Bean problem was gone, but it cut my camera from 13Mpix in 4:3 to 12MPix, and from 10MPix in 16:9 to 9MPix... that was quite unexpected... The price is a price, I paid for 13MPix, and good battery. Now as it's paid, an update cuts the functions i was paying for! Who does something like that to a customer? I thought a while of Xperia Z™, but I don't wanna be fulled again. Since I bought a T™ that was a flagship model, I expected more support for my money and after 4 months it's allready cut off any service updates! Is there anyone expecting that I will shift phones every 5 months? Who will earn for that? I used previously Moto Defy+ and after 2 and a half year I had to change just cause it broke badly.

@hedrox87 your camera is still 13mp but if you are using HDR or superior auto it will be 12mp

Really? Thanks a lot ;D
Guess they should send some manuals after each update, cause there aren't many people that will try all the settings after update.. Funny.

You need to spend some time on phorums to know that everything is OK.
Well, good to know. So a poor battery life is left as a only problem, I turned the antiVir app off and uninstalled it, see how much it helps, still the Xperia is missing a good stock task killer, and settings. Have tested my friend's HTC One X which can kill and refresh processes like my Defy+ could, but in sony you can just stop a task and realise later that you can't even write a text message, than you go to settings again and try to turn everything ON like it was before... it's quite messy. Some devices can kill a task and automatically turn it on if needed, but when you do it with T, you can make your phone useless by mistake, it's not going to start once killed process. Still didn't figured out why calendar and google search keeps working in background since I've never used it, my calendar uses 15% of battery which is even more than google services, also the android system drains too much in my opinion, sometimes it exceeds 47% of battery in sleep mode, even if I have the ECO mode ON all the time. My friend's HTC is just 26% in sleep mode (only Android system usage), where's the diffrence coming from? He has a quad core and T is dual core, but his phone can run much longer.

taskillers are not a good idea, android will close apps as it needs to free up some RAM, in fact, if you close background apps they will reopen soon after and that will drain your battery even more than just letting them run in the background. just exit apps by pressing the back button instead the home key.

go to settings > scroll down to accounts > google > uncheck calendar > I doubt that you add contacts or calendar events every day, just sync every few days not all the time.

I also have the same issue...the new Jelly Bean update is draining my battery in a few hours.  My settings indicate that exchange (for email) is using 34% of the battery.  I tried deactivating my data traffic and that slowed battery depletion a little but since the primary function of this phone is checking email, the battery drain makes the phone unusable.  Please issue a patch or bug-fix for this battery issue asap.

Would be nice, if a Flagship model could keep -up with it's opponents, well the T model is not so old isn't it.. Would be great to have a service battery change for example for 2200 mAh.. My remote control Varta ACCU 2100 cost me like nothing and they keep going and going for 3 years now, why did You put a 1850 mAh accu to a 4,6" full HD smart device? Is it about calculations, costs or what? Razr Maxx went on the market a year ago with 3300 mAh accu and just 8 Mpix camera.. you gave 13 Mpix, bravia engine, and bright LCD screen with bigger resolution... For what? I can play favorite games just for 2,5 - 3 hours and the phone is dead.. Watching movies in bus or train is killing time, but makes the phone useless after 4 hours of work. I'm also afraid to listen to music on my bike, couse I can be left alone without any communication after 6 hours of listening, not even talking about GPS and NAV walking around in mountains.. How do you think why You can't buy a 2.0 litre diesel Corvette? Cause it would be USELESS as a sports car! Why do I need a Full HD super smart phone that I can't even use without checking battery status every 20 minutes.

Agreed!  It's supposed to be a Smartphone! Why should people have to turn off all the features which make it a smart phone to use it?????

Sony (and other smartphone manufacturers) should be forced to put health warnings on their products, 'this device will last less than a day under normal usage conditions'. I brought my Xperia thinking it's Sony, it will be a really good phone. Now I'm paranoid about using any of the functions when I go away on business because I will be left without what I really need most of all, a phone. So much so that after losing charge after nine hours after looking at twitter and playing 4 pics one word on the way to work, that I have now put my sim card in a Nokia 3410 and I basically use the Xperia as a tablet. Result: less disappointment and a phone which will last for at least 5 days without a recharge. The think is why the curved-in back? If this was flat, they could have fitted in a bigger battery. Which is the best smartphone for battery life?

Hello. I'm having one problem with my Xperia T. My phone does not work unless I'm connected to a charger. If I disconnect it will reboot without stopping. If I remove my SIM card it works just fine. But what use it is to have a phone without a SIM Card. I have not updated yet my phone, I'm using the 4.0.4 Android Version. Is the phone really doing this because it is not updated?
