WHY IS ARC S UK SIM FREE STILL NOT UPDATED TO ICS 4.0.4?

I HAVE BEEN WAITING VERY PAITENTLY FOR THE UPDATE, BUT IT IS ALMOST 2 MONTHS SINCE THE 4.0.4 UPDATE AND STILL SI NUMBER 1254-1957 IS NOT OUT YET? WHY SONY?

IS UK GENERIC KIT NOT GOING TO GET UPDATED EVER?

PLEASE DO NOT JUST QUOTE THE URL FOR THE SI NUMBER THREAD, IT IS NOT THERE AND THE UPDATE IS NOT AVAILABLE VIA PC COMPANION OR UPDATE SERVICE.

PLEASE CAN MARKUS OR JOHAN ANSWER ME ON THIS.

It is a shame, everday I check that list, it as been like that for almost 2 months...

I'm really thinking off getting rid of this phone, I like it but I'm just dissapointed on the company globaly.

I also have a uk sim free Arc S runing ICS 4.03 and my SI (1255-0400) is on the list but I can't update to 4.04, I've tried updating through pc companion and SUS . In fact the date on the list is when the original update to ICS happened.

Some colleagues at work have had notifications of updates to 4.04 for their 3 mobile xperia arc s' so I'm confused!!

1255-0400 is not the SI number for UK SIM free. It is 1254-1957. Your number may be out but have you ever changed your Rom by flashing a different one using flash tools? If so then you have changed to a different region to what your phone originally came with therefore you won't get update until the firmware for the region your using is released.

In this case of you played about with custom Roms and then thought UK was your original Rom and decided to flash back to that, then you won't get update until UK is released.

I'm just making assumptions there, you may not have done any of the above, therefore it would be a different problem.

I haven't played around with custom Roms no, although I'm thinking of it.

Ah ok I bought the phone second hand, it is sim free wiht no branding but was provided by Vodafone as far as I'm aware. Either way my number is on the list and I haven't got the update.

AMAZING! none of the SE support staff can answer why this update still is not released. Shows that someone has really cocked up somewhere.

is your phone 100% sim free or was it locked to a network at one point?

I don't need to post screenshot, coz trust me I know what I'm talking about, plus that's irrelevant as I've already mentioned my SI is number IS NOT listed as released so it's not like I'm having trouble updating but rather that Sony haven't bothered releasing the update.

But just to put your mind at ease. My SI number 1254-1957. And more importantly to prove I'm original SIM Free, my service menu customisation ID is 1254-3206. Which is the Arc S UK Generic customisation number.

NOW SONY PLEASE RELEASE THE UPDATE!

I have the same SI number and customisation ID and yes mine is UK sim free too!

This is just pathetic...

Sony? any answer on when would you release 4.0.4?

I feel physically sick after constantly checking on the SI number pages for about 2 months, I have got both arc and arc S on sim free UK and was expecting the update ages ago. Finally I decided to flash both phones using Wotan server last night to Generic Trade Switzerland 4.0.4 version and both work wonderfully, it has lot less bloat ware and phone runs bit faster than the 4.0.3 on arc S. I suspect the Olympics has kept the networks and Sony holding back their update plan.. Really frustrated. Now I don't have to worry about it anymore....Hooray..

Just for the record, my phone's SI number is still not on the list, althought my phone runs 4.0.4. I connected my phone to pc companion, and it gave me the update.

Please try not only checking the list, but connecting your phone to your computer, and check for the update.
