which player is best for playing videos

in xperia c1504 i installed mx player to play videos.mx player plays videos fine but when i m playing 720p, video freezes and audio gets out of  sychronization with videos please suggest some good players for music and videos and also tell me which audio and video formats will sony xperia will support will it support mkv and flv?
