Hi
I have an Xperia Sl, and from a few days a strange problem has been occuring. My volume up button does not do its work, while volume down works perfectly. If I reboot my phone, both buttons work perfectly, but volume up stops responding after sometime. I tried to force shutdown too and buttons responded perfectly for a day, after which volume up again stopped. Anyone else facing these issues?
That seems strange, have you tried to do a repair of the phone software?
Click on this link to get Sony PC companion:
http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
Start PC companion, start "Support Zone", start "Update phone software" and click on "Repair".
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Henke how can you not be aware of the volume up bug? It's well known on the XDA forum since day one of the .200 update.
i have just restarted my phone which solved the problem and never faced it the problem. Try it and give your feedback wether it worked for you or not.
I have the same problem here (.200)
The only thing they told us is to Fix with pc companion.. but it dont work anyway... 😕
Please Sony give us as update fixing all that bugs you bring with JB..
i have the same problem, when i restart the phone the volumen up button works normally again for a little time and again dont respond(only the volumen up button), this problem start when i instal JB to my phone, you need to fix this problem and all the bugs please (the JB update its amazing, only this problem and a little bugs)
The issue OP is facing is a bug with the .200 and .211 software, every single XPS suffers from it. It seems to be completely random and not facing the problem for a day or more is just as likely as getting it 10 times in the same day.
Doing the software repair is a waste of time as it will happen again inevitably.
Johan, take a look at my last post in this thread

And at my thread here where I described this and other bugs that happen to every XPS, and please forward this information to Sony's dev team, a bugfix release is needed.

Again, for those bugs (slow video rec, volume up not working, etc) doing the software repair is a waste of time, they are software bugs present in the firmware and there is no way to fix them, only Sony can fix them with a software upgrade.
