Hi Sony! i just got my xperia z 10days ago. Everything was doing fine untill today when i tried playing the video that i have just recorded. it shows distorted shots and green colored portions of the video making it unwatchable. Aside from the other issues like poor wifi connection and low volume, this video problem had me really upset about my new phone.
Does the video look the same if you transfer it to a computer and watch it?

someone just posted the same issue on another thread. can you also try to to download MX Player and see if you have the same problem playing the video?
no, it plays fine when i transferred the video to the computer
was this video recorded with the regular camera or another camera app?
so did u download mx player on your phone and test it? or not?
i havent tried it yet because i gave my phone back yesterday to the dealer where i bought it from for repair
from the regular built in camera app
ok understood.
the reason why u're able to play on MAc or even PC is because there are mroe codecs preinstalled on these systems. Unlike the Z. And also, PC and Mac systems have better decoders. Which means its able to play a larger variety of video formats. and i'm not just refering to the video files extension. smaller devices like mobile does not have these much flexibility. Mostly due to licensing issues for some of these codecs.
To make it short, the Z can only play certain formats that does not have any errors. The reason you're having this problems is becasue the output of your recorded video is corrupted. That is why your'e seeing those green patches. U won't see these on PC or Mac because they have better players that usualy have auto correction or higher tolerance for corrupted videos.
MX Player has larger supports for video codecs. And higher tolerance to video data corruption. Thay's y I wanted you to test it out first.
but the recorded vids are only simple vids taken on the camera app of the phone
i even tried plying it on vlc app for cp, and its still not working well.
