Update 6.0 Contacts Lost

I updated my phone and all my personal contacts that were saved to phone have vanished, I just have number in history. Nothing else. Tried going to apps and contacts force stop clear data etc doesn't work. HELP

Nothing that really works out, you can try recuva but don't think it will help.

Hi

After update from 5.1 to 6.0.1 my contacts disappeared and I can't do anything.
- manually create new contact in not possible I can't save contact on device or google account
- restore and backup contact stop in 50% and that's it.
- I can't dial any number and call to anybody application not respond

- all contacts in one vCard not supported but separately importing but importing and that is it. Contact never finished importing.
- contact process and "clear data" doesn't give nothing
- using mypohone expoler app I could upload contact they did not show up in android contact app or diall app but the name has been displayed in watsup app. After "celar data" I can't upload them any more and now they not show up in watsup as well.

- phone is very warm all the time

any sugestions ???

Would it be possible for you to take logs from your phone after trying to restore your contacts and send them to me?

To do this:
Settings > About phone > Build number, tap 7 times on the build number
Go back to Settings and select Developer options and turn on "USB debugging". Then tap "Logger buffer sizes" and set this to "4 M".
- Try to restore your contacts

If it stops or gives an error message:
Settings > Developer options, select "Take bug report". When the report is ready (may take a minute or so) you get a notification that you can tap and share to Google Drive. Please send me a link to this file in a private message.

After doing this, can you try to clear data for the app called "Contacts Storage" and then try to restore the vCard again? Note that clearing data for Contacts Storage will delete all contacts in the phone so any contacts not in the backup will be lost.

Rickard contact issue solved. I've use two app (badoo and watsup) they required to have a access to contact. I believe that them had access to contact before android import contacts. When I fire up my phone on safe mode contacts list just show up without any backup after all those clear data things and after reboot phone everything works fine.

but please do something about battery life time. It's go quicker than on android 5.1 or give as access to setup

Hello, after the last update to 6.0.1 I have lost some contacts. The bad thing is that I can't find a connection between those contacts ( that means where they recently added, in the phone menu etc.) But i think its with the contacts in the phone menu that seem to be lost. All google contacts are synced and present. Any help?

Hi @Kaarli,

Welcome to the community.

The contacts may be filtered. Go to your contacts, and press the options button (3 dots) > Filters. Tick everything in here. Make sure you expand local contacts and google too, plus any other accounts you have contacts for.
