my sony pc companion stuck on preparing and keeps restarting while updating on lollipop

The PC Companion clear has a bug.  It was working before before the windows updates.  I don't know which update as my SB52 doesn't need to check for update often, but when I plugged it in this morning the PC Companion, but I cannot believe the answer from a Sony-Official Support Staff is to try it on another PC or re-install it.  This problem clearly dated back a long time ago.  Please give us a solution to the problem.

Trying to run PC Companion on another computer is a step we would advise doing if no other troubleshooting steps have helped. Do you get a specific error message at all or is it just not loading?

Hi, I'm having an issue updating my phone. The Pc companion just goes to step 2 (Preparing) It'll take ages, roughly an hour and it stops, goes back to the main HUD. It doesn't go to Update or even inform me that it's about to update my phone. Is there something I can do?

Try a different computer, how fast/slow is your internet connection? you might want to disable any antivirus or firewall and try again.

Same problem here, solved it:

Go to C:\ProgramData\Sony\Sony PC Companion\Omsi Installation\

Run Sony_Mobile_Update_Engine_Setup-2.15.10.201507101148.exe as an administrator. 

Installation takes 1 minute. When installation finished, choose RUN the program.

Open Sony Companion and update again.
