Anytime, Sony smartphones are good there are some issues that seems that Sony is working on, such as, releasing software updates a bit faster than before.

I got Jelly Bean for my XPJ on release day, so I'm rather happy with Sony, they seem to have picked up their game since the fiasco with updating the XPU.

@dragpyre there are multiple fiascos

2010 Xperia X10 has a 65K display instead of 16m and a single touch screen instead of multi and/or dual touch as advertised

2010 Xperia X10's update 1.6 to 2.1 took over 6 months

2010 Xperia X10 took a lot of customers pressure for Sony to release 2.3.3 a year and a half later

2010 Xperias 2.1 was the final update

2010 Xperia X10 mini and mini pro have multitouch digitizer but are set to single touch

2011 Xperia Arc housing cracks issue

2011 Xperia Play stuck on 2.3.4 (no ICS nor Jelly Bean)

2011 Xperias ICS updates slow down its performance

2011 Xperias ICS notification, wifi and data issues/bugs

2012 Xperia S/SL ear-speaker low volume issue

2012 Xperia U, Sola, Miro and Tipo are not going to receive Jelly Bean

2012 Xperias have some issues with Jelly Bean

as you can see the number of issues are diminishing but after all it is Sony we expect a lot more from them Slightly_smiling_Face

Only issue I have with Jelly Bean is that its not rootable on the XPJ, but I see what you mean.

Other companies have their fair share of blame too with their handsets, its not just Sony that do these kind of things.

@stetvasile you have 2 options

1) contact your carrier and ask them for the code to unlock your phone

or

2) go to a cellunlocker website to get your phone unlocked.

Just purchase unlock codes for Sony Xperia u from any vendors online like Onlinegsmunlock.com

I have an xperia tipo. It worked fine for 11 months. Now suddenly it wouldn't detect my SIM CARD so I got it reaplace with a new one of the same number(vodafone) . Still won't work. I tried 3-4 other sim cards and only 2 worked, these 2 belonged to a carrier called (reliance). only reliance cards were working.

this is what my SIM LOCK screen  says.

[x] network 0

[x] network subnet 0

[x] service provider 0

and basically it's [x] in the begining and "0" at the end for all fields. What does this mean? sim locked or not?

note: I updated my phone and when I inserted the vodafone sim card it worked. 15mins later it died again. I guess hardwares okay right?
