SI numbers, release dates, PDK, Approvals Jelly Bean To Sony Moderators & Community Manager(s)

To Sony Moderators and Community Manager(s)

There are multiple threads and posts with the same questions and this will NOT going to stop until Sony release a full official statement on this,

  1. What does "We will however, continue to support all these products with firmware maintenance releases"? will this fix the bugs?
  2. Who is in charge of approving the SIM Free updates per country?
  3. Who approve last Sony or a Carrier in the case that it's locked to a carrier?
  4. Did Sony received a Jelly Bean PDK?
  5. Will Sony fulfill or break the "AT LEAST" 18months software updates commitment/agreement at Google I/O 2011?
  6. How come the 2012 Xperias with the same or lower hardware specs, compared to the 2011 Xperias, run ICS smooth w/o all the 2011 lag/crashing issues?
  7. On the same subject as 5. Is sony going to fix all this issues and release an update to the 2011 Xperias w/o bugs?
  8. On the subject as 4. Will the Xperia Arc, Play, Neo and Pro will no longer be supported at the end of August? as it will be 18months since they were released
  9. Will the Current Xperia S be overclocked like the Xperia SL as this "new" xperia S will have the same hardware as the current Xperia S just overclocked CPU?
  10. Will Sony improve the Camera/Picture/Video quality? is this a hardware or software limitation? there are some users experiencing focus issues with the Xperia S, is this a hardware issue that must be recalled?

Yes, it might be Complex, yes it might be hard to answer but if Sony Developer were able to post a thread on how we get an update starting from the source code to the final product (just before approvals) I think this can be done, it'll be like a second part to From Source Code to upgrade release.

Also if you have another question feel free to post it and I'll add it to this top of this thread, try to make general questions not specific (i.e. when is my SI number will be approved/posted/etc, instead something like,  who can we contact to find out if our carrier it's going to release or not the update?)

TBC means To Be Considered right? so it might still be denied the update if it didn't go well..

that my friend is what I call an epic scheduling, why can't sony do something like that?

indeed, but the big news there is that HTC is already working on it, which every company should, but it seems that the 2010 Xperias fiascos, 2011 Xperia fiascos, it's worth mentioning that the 2010 Xperia fiasco is more than just not updating the xperias to 2.3 but also the LIES about the Xperia X10, it was advertised as 16million color screen, multitouch, and well it was released, we bought it and we kept getting updates on the update that 1.6 didn't supported multitouch but 2.1 did and bla bla bla, what happened was that the screen is only 65K colors and it's single touch, Sony developers emulated dual touch later on, but the damage was done, since this was added by the end of it's lifetime, the ear speaker was another issue, it was said that it was a software issue but it wasn't it is/was a hardware limitation, the 2012 Xperias have this issue, so I hope this time it is indeed a software issue, although ICS it's out for the Xperia S and the volume on the ear speaker it's the same.

Indeed, it was even advertised as multi-touch in the US but it only lasted few days as a lot of us/users complained about it on the official blog, at first we tought that there would be a new X10 w/ multitouch but it was later corrected, just like right now the new Xperias are advertised to get ICS on Q2 and well Q2 has passed and the Xperia P still hasn't received ICS

I don't know about you, but I intend to write a strongly worded letter to the White Star Line

Sony Mobile Communications about all of this.

Good idea but it seems that Sony isn't paying attention, I want to believe they are (make believe Dizzy_Face )

hey what happened ? this thread must be in the entire 2011 xperia family.  looks like Sony wants to hide it.  one of the reasons I bought my phone was  because of ICS update promise, and what they did?  Half baked update......shame on you Sony devs.  and I don't want to talk about camera picture quality (overcompressed & low dpi).   let's face the truth guys, Sony fooled us with lies.

it was moved to a sub-sub-sub forum, so I requested to be moved to either the Xperia Arc/Arc S or Xperia S thread since both are the flagships phones, it should've stayed where it was but I rather have it here than a sub-Sub-SUB forum

Come On Sony. Atleast answer, that you can not answer the questions?

Thanks,
