Hi, I am new to this forum. I have recently updated MY PHONE ics TO jb
now I am facing a problem while dialing a number. it says "Unfortunately, the process com.sonyericsson.android.socialphonebook has stopped"
I dont need numbers from social phonebook, just want to dial some numbers, but its not working. Kindly help on the same
I RESET FACTORY RESET ALL TIMES BUT STILL M FACING THE SAME ISSUE, PLEASE UPDATE FOR THE SAME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
Name: SANJEET KUMAR
MODEL NUMBER: ST26i
Phone nr:
E-mail:
Country: India
Operator: Airtel
Product(s): Sony Xperia ST26i
Android Version 4.1.2
Kernel Version 3.4.0
IMEI nr:
Build number: 11.2.A.0.21
Also in safe mode the problem still occurs.
I'll go for the service center.
i have the same problem and my friend also has the problem starting today.
After having it returned to my service center, I got the phone back declared 'fixed'.
It wasn't.
I didn't bother going back again to complain and getting frustrated about it. So now I still have this crashing contacts process, preventing me to call whomever I want. That's not what I expect from a phone. After years of phoning with Sony Ericsson, I see myself forced to move to another brand. Nexus it's gonna be, I guess.
Wishing you good luck with troubleshooting.
Hi,
If you uninstall Facebook and WhatsUp it should work. Make sure that you don't synk your contacts with Facebook if you decide to install Facebook again.
I think Facebook is the main problem, Do the following step:
from setting, accounts & sync settings then remove all accounts except gmail account.
phonebook well work, when I try to add facebook account again the problem appears again
I had remove facebook account and now my phone is working well

We have identified this issue on some units and the source of issue resides in a Google Play Services update (4.4.49). Google has been contacted about this and have confirmed a fix for Google Play Services version 4.4.50 or higher. In the mean time you can either remove any accounts that depend on Google Play Services like, Facebook, Viber, Skype etc. You can also choose to uninstall the latest Google Play Services update but then losing access to some Google applications.
I tried the suggestions of AdamHund, but also these did not appear to work.
The version of Google Play - services on my phone is 4.3.25, so that can not be the reason either. I don't know how to update this Google Play app to the latest version.
Have you tried uninstalling this update for Google Play Services and then restarted your phone? Checking https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.gms it says that the version number varies with device so the version number i got may not be correct for all phones.
I just de-installed updates of the google services app. Now I'm back at v1.0.13 and still the same crashes of the phonebook occur, also after reboot.
