I think I am missing something obvious here, I have allocated a tone for my incoming notification messages, there are some instances where it is not appropriate so I want to switch it off quickly (not necessarily open the message, just stop the alert from sounding) all previous phones have been easy, my last Samsung I just had to touch the screen and the phone shut up, but I cannot seem to make my Xperia P go silent.
I have pressed the power button, nothing
I have pressed the UP volume button, nothing
I have pressed the DOWN volume button, nothing
I have swiped the screen, nothing
I physically have to swipe the screen, go into the phone, into messages, and open the message before the thing shuts up
Previous phone I just had to touch the screen, some phones you just have to turn them over, surely Sony have not messed this up that much that you cannot silence your own phone ?
(Yes, I know there are silent and vibrate modes, but I want to hear my phone)
You can not slide down the notification bar,you have only the bar which can be slided up when recieving a call.
Hello alexdon,
In the notification bar you should have information about SMS, emails, reminder, missed calls, downloads etc...
It is a feature of the operating system.
In which direction you able to do that ?
Cheers.
I know how looks the notification bar,i just told you that when the screen is locked and you receive a call, the notification bar is not accessible, only the bottom bar for rejecting a call, where are included some messages.
Hello alexdon,
I strongly agree with you about phone calls.
Have a great weekend.
Alexrx, Thank you I will try that, I find it a bit long winded, but if it works then I suppose it will have to do.
Unless I have my settings wrong, I do not get a screen to swipe or deny when I receive a text, I do when I receive a call.
Thanks
