Hi,
I observed that Google Sky Map points in wrong directions.
The behaviour is different in landscape and portrait mode i.e. If the phone is portrait then East and West are interchanged and if landscape then North / South are interchange.
Compass application points to correct directions.
Any guess, Google Sky Map is showing version 1.6.1.
Did the recalibration, but it did not help

Once you start moving fast enough, some apps no longer rely on the magnetic sensor, but start using the GPS signal instead to determine the direction you're moving (supposing you're holding the device in the direction of your movement).

Recalibrated. But the same problem persists with Google Sky Map.
Compass (by catch) is perfectly indicating.
how about google maps and navigation? does that work fine?
GPS and magnetic sensor seem to be ok. The problem is with the accelerometer. As long as you keep the handset reasonably level, google maps and navigation will work fine. Once you start tilting the device (which you obviously have to do with Sky Map), unexpected things happen caused by inverted accelerometer readings. My guess is, that this could easily be fixed with new drivers.

do you have 2.3.4?
settings -> about phone -> android version
I'm still at 2.3.3 and would love to get to 2.3.4, but am not offered the upgrade in update center.
This app seems to work fine in Accelerometer mode (http://market.android.com/details?id=net.androgames.level) - when in Orientation mode (preferences-sensor type)... it goes up and down wrong when in portrait, left and right in landscape. Can anyone confirm this works the same for them? and can anyone try it on a non Mini Pro phone to see if it actually works?
Thanks

in acceleratormode the app works fine.
Using the "lagesensor" (whatever that is in englisch), two of the axises are switched.
Rotating around the long axis (the longest axis, from "sony ericson" to home button, roll) is correct.
Rotating around the middle axis (the axis running left-right, pitch) is flipped.
Rotating around the short/vertical axis (through the display, yaw) is flipped.
(Android 2.3.3 xperia mini pro)
Cool ... now we just have to confirm the app actually does work on another phone.
