Hi,
I observed that Google Sky Map points in wrong directions.
The behaviour is different in landscape and portrait mode i.e. If the phone is portrait then East and West are interchanged and if landscape then North / South are interchange.
Compass application points to correct directions.
Any guess, Google Sky Map is showing version 1.6.1.
is it the mini or the mini pro..??? the correct landscape mode is wen yu hav the mic on yur rit hand n d side whr the earpiece on yur left... try concentratin on 1 mode alone... either landscape or portrait... i will comment further abt ths if thr s really a prob in the map software...
I have same problem with this 3 apps
googel sky maps, satellite AR and dishpointer pro dont work
all worked fine on my old x10 mini pro
i now have the new xperia mini pro
1st, it is mini pro.
Not to be much technical, the simple thing is that if I point the Phone in landscape towards sun holding the Home / Back Key at my right and earplug/charger to my left and move towards north, I find my self pointing to South.
In nutshell, the object I am pointing, (e.g. Sun) shall move to opposite direction if I move to left or right whereas in my case, if I move to right Sun moves to right and if I move left, it moves to left.

I haven't actually encountered this problem myself but I'll pass on this feedback further on to concerned team, and have them check this.
Checked "Space Junk" from android market but as results as "Google Sky Map".
Same here: compass not working (strangely mirrored and jumping) in: Google Sky Map, Maps(Compass mode, Streetview), Sattelite AR, Flightradar24, Wikitude etc. etc. etc..... It works "better" in some simple compass app, as long as you dont hold the display upside down (over your head), then the needle freaks out. (xperia mini pro, bought 3 days ago) Greetings from Vienna, Austria! Moxx
same here
when the phone is hold upright (portrait) the y axis is reversed
see marine compass and satellite ar
greetings metachuh
Just want to add that I have the same problem with Google sky maps.
