Data overage on Xperia Z3V

According to Verizon, I've used up more than 4 Gigabytes of data in April, and already used 5 this month. I've done everything I can to restrict data usage (disable background data, turn off mobile data, and enable Extended Standby in Stamina Mode), but for some reason my Xperia is still consuming data over my cellular network! I'm at home often, and I have Wi-Fi there. I'm connected to it all the time, and I have a strong signal, so I'm not sure why my phone keeps eating through my data. Has anyone else had a problem like this? I'm about to see if I can get a replacement, but if this problem is going to happen again I'll just go back to Samsung, which is a dang shame, as I really like this phone.

@uliwooly

I do have a family plan. But after a chat with Verizon, they sent a usage report for the account, and for whatever reason my line is apparently using all the data. No one else has gone over their share except for me.

@Stikymess

you should really contact Verizon, perhaps they think that since your phone its the main line and the other phones used up the data it shows as you using all the data.

@uliwooly

Been there, done that. They're convinced it's my line, and they have the paperwork to prove it's not an error on their part. I'm thinking there might be a bug in KitKat somewhere that's making my phone use data and it's just not registering, so I'll go through with a software repair.

Settings > data usage

Mobile data traffic

Set mobile data limit

there should be a date here, change the date to the previous cycle and report back

I've only had it for 2 cycles. Got it in late March, and the only other cycle I've had it for besides the current one (Apr 15-May 14) is the one I just read to you (Mar 15-Apr14).

That's quite odd, unless, have you factory reset your phone? or updated to lollipop recently? open google plus (app) > menu > settings > auto backup > is it on?

It's off. I can't update to Lollipop (Verizon, not AT&T), and I've had no reason to factory reset.

This is really odd, but you are not alone, check this out
