Charging problem - USB Disconnected error

Hi everyone,

I got a Sony XPeria P a few days back.Everything was going fine for the first few days until all of a sudden i started experiencing problems charging my phone.

I started receiving the following error message - "USB devices disabled error".On clicking it i get the following pop-up "Power consumption by connected devices is increased, therefore, all of them have been disabled. Please disconnect them and try reconnecting". I get this message even when i try charging it thorugh the plug point. At times the charging symbol appears at the top right side but the red LED light for charging does not come on meaning the phone is not actually being charged. Am clueless about what to do as i am currently in a location where there is no Sony service centres around. Thinking_Face

Anyone else faced these kind of problems? Please help!!

Regards,

Thunderbird91

@yash1090 - are you charging through a PC or wall socket?

I also had the same problem. It doesn't recognized by PC at all. Neither in 'Volume down' mode nor 'Volume up' mode. I tried, software restore, hard reset and everything, more and more users are facing this issue.

My phone is under warranty but now I am in a different country. And sony doesn't give global warranty!

There could be mutiple possibilities:hardware problem,driver incompatibility,charger.

When you connect the phone with it turned off whilst holding down the volume button, does it remain off and give you the solid green notification light?

im facing the same problem .. this is a hardware problem coz software fixes are not going to work for this. the usb rail inside the charging port is prone to getting bent.. coz duh!! its delicate.. if u go to the support centre to get it fixed. sorry bad luck the whole motherboard would need replacement, coz the usp port is embedded and not a free part that u can easily replace ot in a cheeper price . so the only thing that one can try after all the software updating is to physically fix the micro usb plate to a position that it contacts the cable n charges your phone, BUT BE CAREFUL ITS REALLY DELICATE!!!
