Hi all,
I'm seriously thinking about Sola to buy, but there is still one thing, that tells me to rather wait for answer:
I've asked to some owner of this phone to measure for me the battery life. His result (1% per 6 minutes of mid-brightness) is for me great, but he also told me about one interesting problem: when he installed game (HillClimb), battery suddenly started to drain extremely fast - about 1% per minute. Is this normal on Android, or some special "feature" of this phone? Have you met this problem yet?
Thanks and please excuse my english level
regards, skrble
that's an app/game issue, some games/apps are either poor coded or they are heavy games that require a lot of resources, thus, draining your battery faster.
Thanks! So should I stay in belief that Sola's battery is after last update better than it was?
I don't have this particular Xperia so I can't quite comment on its battery life
do not buy a sola, it's a waste of money. buy a htc phone. check the forum : sony support svcks, and unless you hack your phone and install a custom rom you will have bad battery life whatever you do.
simply put : stay away from sony.
I rather like sola battery life.
But, sony having already decided the sola was end of life and will not get updates, go for someting else. Someting with at leat jeally bean if you go for android.
Games ARE expected to drain battery faster.Whetever the phone, whatever the OS. But a properly coded app will not drain battery when not in use.
I like the battery life that CM9 gives me, true. with stock firmware, it's always been horrible for me.
also, if I were to choose now, a year later, I'd not go for a 512MB phone. it works, but it's just not enough to work smoothly with larger apps and some games.
Battery life was quite ok with stok rom, after removing / freezing some of the sony stuff.
And yeah, 1G ram seams a must have now. At least if you want to run facebook.
I appreciate your suggestions a lot! Thank you all for great suggestions! I will rather buy Xperia P.
be aware that, while with an xperia p you have better hardware, you're still stuck with sony's software and support, which both s/uck. you'll probably not get the updates you want, and will be stuck with a barely working phone.
don't do it. it's a waste of money. go htc or samsung. anything but sony, really.
