Battery Drain

Hi all,

I´ve received my Sony Xperia P 2 days ago in Germany from Amazon Germany. Everything seemed to be working fine but unfortunately if the phone is in standby as well as when it´s being used, the battery drops rapidly and the phone shuts down after approximately 8 to 10 hours. Turning 3g off, wirless off, switching to wcdma or gsm only does not fix the problem either. As I have read this problem occured with the Xperia S as well which was then fixed by a firmware update to the version 6.0.A.3.73. Since the phone has been released here 2 days ago only there are basically no complaints about this issue with the P yet. Is there any solution planned already? I guess Xperia P users can´t use the same firmware of the S since the build has got a "B" instead of the "A" in it.

Sony - is there a firmware update in the pipeline to fix the ridiculous battery life of the Xperia P or do I need to return it?

Once again and very simple:

When´s the update to 6.0.B.1.576 coming???

As this page states http://www.ptcrb.com/vendor/complete/view_complete_request_guest.cfm?modelid=21034 the update has passed for the LT22i which obviously is the Sony Xperia P so the question persists, when the update is being released!!!

I am an Xperia P user from India with the same issue if batter drain. I have exact same problem as others are having especially ra-ho. The battery life seems to be really a worrying factor & since battery eventually dies, I am starting to get worried how much backup my hone can give me after 6-8 months.

Sony , could you please provide a solution to this battery drain.

yeah i am having the same issues with you guys . You are not the only 1 and i am waiting to 4.0 upgrade too

I'm quite happy about the battery except for 3g browsing

It drains 1% battery in 2 mins, guys you have to fix this

So we ask the simple question again: When are updates coming for all the issues being stated by consumers in here, Sony? Why is nobody replying from Sony!!!

Hi,

i'm also an owner of the xperia p send by amazon.

Today my phone lasted not longer than 7 1/2 hours with may be about 1 1/2 hour usage.

I've made two screenshots to proof my point.

The only apps i was using are whatsapp,google+,mail and browser.

And i would really like to believe that an update can fix many problems but i'm not interested in waiting for it to happen and being unable to get along one work day...

Especially since i don't even have the chance to change the battery...

  everything is in low position except when i charge my bttery the widgets bravia engine watch videos.....

but very much problem sir i am not hvin  stable battery it very embrassin in cse of emergency i can't call maximum a 2 to 3 hrs battery but after it automatically closed and the red light flashes means need chargin ( yestarday my battery was 100% then in the morning its comes to 9 % and no alarm in silent mode no widgets no bravia engine and stopped all applications by force ) 

athough i have installed one software from google play that is trend micro longivity beta version but with help of this another 1 hr. i am gaining the battery , but without these only 3 hrs  and draining out .......

is there any software of sony ( in my home my tv 3 dvd changer and network walkman is sony ...... i love sony but this condition is very upsetting nd confusing me )  by which i can trouble shoot this problem

I guess, I hav the same issue, plz do check my stats out and let me know whether it's normal or alarming

My usage:

1 hr of temple run,

30 mins of music

with absolutely no calls(today),

with wi-fi, data-traffic, background data, and auto a/c sync off,

with brightness set at 30%,

with no other apps except MX video player and temple run

I hav also stopped services that i don't use

Batter usage stats:

Brightness: 63%

Android OS: 10%

cell standy: 7%

voice calls: 5%

phone idle: 4%

recommender: 4%

Andriod system: 3%

media server: 3%

com.sonyericsson.music: 3%

gallery: 2%

I left home at 10 am with 100% battery, now the time is 7:30 pm in India, I still have 22% left, I think the Whitemagic tech has taken it's toll on the battery

IF SO THEN IT WILL BE GREAT  BUT DONT GET AWAY FROM US WE NEED YOUR HELP JEFF I KNOW U CAN MAKE IT AND SOLVE THIS ISSUES WHICH WE ARE HAVING OR FACING WITH THE NEW MODEL XPERIA - P ...... WE ARE ALSO TRYING HELP YOU BY  A PROCESS OF DEBUGGING SAYING THIS PROBLEMS A RE COMING OUT  SO NEXT HANDSETS DOSENT FACE THIS PROBLEMS OR THE CUSTOMERS ........

IF THERE IS ANY ISSUE OF SOLVATION ABOUT THESE THEN PLEASE TELL US WE WILL USE IT AD BEFORE THAT PLEASE USE IT IN UR HANDSET THE NEW SOFTWARE THEN IVE US THAT WILLBE BETTER FOR US .......
