I have updated my Xperia V to Jelly Bean 4.3 Android via Sony Companion. Since then I used to get these notifications all the time, and couldn't have fixed them no matter how hard I tried: "unfortunately the process android.process.gapps has stopped" and "android.process.media has stopped". It was such an issue that i barely could do a factory reset. After factory reset i lost my Contacts, but i knew i had them stored somewhere as backup. After Factory reset, everything was fine and i went to restore my contacts via back up & restore, and i found my backup but couldn't restore, i got the following notification "Selected backup records cannot be used due to incompatible software versions."
Is there a way that i get my contacts back manually, there is the screenshot of the files i have, I don't have any .dbk file, but only these, tell me if you know how to open .socialphonebook file, help me if you can. I'm desparate.
Did you have your contacts synced with Google ?
If yes, what do you see when you access them via pc browser ? (open Gmail and then select Contacts)
Are they there ?
If yes, you should be able to get them back to your phone after Google sync.
Hey, I don't have contacts saved in google, i just checked
However i had them stored in SIM, but on SIM there was just 1 number for each contact, and names are partial, let me not mention they're really outdated. Its a total waste. Though if i had Xperia V with 4.1.2 I'm sure i could open my backup, via restore
I'll try with that software, but i sincerely doubt it'll work. It would be the best if someone knew how to extract them from the priorly mentioned backup file. Thanks for replies!

The following thread shows an answer from an official Sony Xperia Support person. He says that the only way to backup the contacts and such is to have the device that works on that prior software, in my case 4.1.2 android Xperia V.
Therefore, I seek a trustworthy person to help me restore my contacts, who has still not updated his/hers Xperia V. I would send you my backup file and you could extract me my contacts from the phonebook as .VCF file. Thank you in advance kind person!
You might want to try downgrading to 4.1.2,extracting backup and after that go to 4.3.
I don't know how to do it, if i did, i probably would have to have rooted phone, rooting it voids my warranty
If you flash another firmware,it will not void warranty, you can come back to 4.3.But it is better to wait for someone(look for yourself for people that are active).
