Xperia XA - Touch screen issue

I found that the top edge (esp. top right hand corner) of the screen is not really "senseable".  I need to press a little bit harder then other part of the screen in order to get the response.

I tried with both my glass protector off or on (apparently I have to get a new one after I took one off)

Should I just go to the Sony store and ask for maintenance?

well I repaired it twice but the touch screen is not responding. I have pressed the keys 100 times but doesnt work. Rebooted mutliple times. It did respond once to a certain extent and then stopped again. I am thinking it has got condenstion inside. It was working fine till today morning... this is a brand new phone and it has been only 2 days since I bought it. they will rpelace the handset but i do not want to go through those complications. Slightly_frowning_Face

Mines a rev2 device maybe worth checking what the revision no is on the box, my touchscreen is working just fine checked it with the diagnostic app/tool. Failing all else get it swapped for a replacement

My phone got touch screen problem. Mine is also Rev2. I will ask my friend who has just bought the XA what model he has.

Dear all guys who got touch screen problems. I am now testing my new idea whether will my new idea fix the problem.

I have just came accrossed on article published by Sony about touch screen issue. One of the cause of touch screen problem might caused by the SD card.

Nowi have removed out the SD card. Let see will tjis problem be solved. I will use my phone for 1-2 days and will feedback to u guys.

just recieved my xa. seem to have the same problem a dead zone develops at the top edge and makes pulling the notifications down an issue. it seems to fix itself when i lock then unlock the phone but after 30 secs the problem redevelops. really hope this can be fixed soon. Slightly_frowning_Face

After my experiment, i am here again to say that removing out the SD card does not solve the problem at all.

@inthebleak the problem u are now facing is just the same as mine. Sometime i cant pull donw the notification. To temporarily sove the provbem is to lock and unlock.

Ye that's exactly what I'm doing. Just locking and unlocking again. In 2 minds as to either send it back or wait for Sony to push an update. Almost certain it is software

Exactly! I am in 2 minds also. Send it back could be long waiting and might be not solve anything as i am sure that this is caused by the OS.

So I want Sony staff to say something about this. Then I will know that should I wait for the next update.

Anyone knows that is this forum monitored by real Sony staff?

This is a user run forum, but yes all serious problems especially those software+device related are passed up the chain of command so to speak. If you have a problem follow the instructions for reporting including how to take the bug report. Ranting and abuse gets people nowhere. I have a rev2 device and its working flawlessly. Sony are by the far the best when it comes to updates and bug fixes you'll get more from Sony than you will Samsung that's for sure.

I called to local service center today. The staff told me to do the system repair, safemode (to exclude third party application) and diagnostic tool (to test hardware) , which i did all before. I asked them any other customers got this same problem they said "yes"

Then they told me to bring the phone to the service center. Then i asked them what they will do with my phone.

They said they will first do the system repair again for me and let me go home and try again whether the problem still occur. Then after back home if the problem still not solved then i have to go to service center again and they will deep inspect my hardware (which they will need again to format my phone information)

Gosh!
1. Everytime the system repair no matter i did or they will do it will format and erase all the important info on my phone such as the business chat history on Line and Whatapps. How many times i have to erase these important information again and again.

2. The Service center is about almost one and a half hour from my place at least. Including waiting the service and the time taking me back home, it means i have to throw away my time the whole day!! . How many days i need to go in and out until they will do the deep test on my hardware.

3.I bought this phone from Sony shop which at the first they said if the phone has any problem then they will in 7 days change the new one for me. The second day after i saw the problem i immediately went to the shop and luckily the problem occurred infront of the Sony staff. I then asked them to change the new one. They said "sorry, u have to go to the service center!!.
Then i called to complain this to Sony by calling to the phone number in the Sony support function in my phone. They said "Sorry they can't help on this as it is different department please bring your phone to repair at service center. What does it mean? This is so stupid!

So the 7 days guarantee to replace the new one is nothing just an general advertisement or marketing campaign.

Poor me and Poor u also Sony.
