Bluetooth and Wifi Issues

In the last few weeks I've been experiencing frequent issues with my bluetooth and wifi.  My phone forgets my bluetooth headset and I have to resync to get it to work.  As well with my wifi it will have authentication issues with my router.  I often have to restart my phone to fix both the bluetooth and the wifi issues.

This is getting extremely frustrating.  I only bought this phone at the end of August and it's already having issues.

Issue happens when wifi and bluetooth are both on for a period of time. Then my wifi connection stops working and my fitbit doesn't sync. Restart temporarily works and so does airplane mode in and off. If i turn off bluetooth wifi works as long as i keep it off and vice versa.

I'm grttget a bit tired of the advice to 'turn your phone offoandoon againa'. Yes,  restarting works, but I don't want to have to do that multiple times a day to use basic functions like listening to music.

It does . You can turn airplane mode on and then off. Not a solution but better then restart.

Not to mention it takes minutes to reboot.  Slow frigging phone.  I'm never buying a Sony Android again.

I just got this new phone a few days ago and didn't have this issue so far. Also noticed this issue before got this phone. So I have tried to not perform system update first. Found no issue. Then updated it. Tested with no issue. Then updated to the latest security patch of JAN. Still haven't find any issue.

My phone model# is G3223 with only 1 sim slot and 1 SD slot one. So this issue might not be the same for all models.

Guys,

I know this thread is a mix of a lot of things and having the data connection dropping from time to time that requires the dreaded 'RESTART' to make it work.

Just wanted to share my frustration and struggle on resolving this issue and I MAY have found a valid solution:

On my side, looks like enabling WiFi calling feature on this phone creates that issue/conflict on the data connection. After a series of tweaking the APN configuration, *#*#4636#*#* connection preferences, and enabling/disabling Wifi/BT, none did the trick.

So recently I did a factory reset, and this time DID NOT enable the WiFi calling feature. So far the spot where i get the signal drop is NOT happening. It was a consistent drop coming on/off the subway, but so far it is re-connecting automatically. Wifi and BT are ON and my firmware version is 42.0.A.4.167.

Just sharing it to everyone

Wifi Calling:

Go to Settings > More > WiFi Calling (after the NFC setting)

But if you had the WiFi Calling enabled already, it will not work if you will not factory reset the phone.

Enabling the wifi calling lets the provider send some configuration OTA, so you cannot 'undo' it via settings.

I don't have that feature, must be dependent on carrier. I did a factory reset about a month back and never got any setting for Wifi Calling. I'm on the same firmware version. Guess Ill continue to toggle airplane mode.

Sony where is Android 8.0? 7.1.1 fixed this issue and since you all are skipping it, we want 8.0 asap.
