Bluetooth and Wifi Issues

In the last few weeks I've been experiencing frequent issues with my bluetooth and wifi.  My phone forgets my bluetooth headset and I have to resync to get it to work.  As well with my wifi it will have authentication issues with my router.  I often have to restart my phone to fix both the bluetooth and the wifi issues.

This is getting extremely frustrating.  I only bought this phone at the end of August and it's already having issues.

I am not looking for a solution to this phone anymore.

I know these have been a known issue within the community for a while now and there is no solution to fix them. Apparently it seems our frustrating experience with Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra is being ignored.

The only work around I know is to restart the phone for it to work about an hour before all three stops again.

I have spent hours looking at this Sony support forum (plus XDA developer and Google Search) I can’t say if I have seen a Sony representative responded with an actual solution to any of the concern in regards to Wifi, data, and bluetooth connectivity issues. Which leads me to assume that (1) Sony Mobile knows about it and is unwilling to acknowledge it; and (2) the problem could be originated between Android 7 and/or 8 and the hardware, that Sony Mobile may not have the capacity or resources to resolve it.

As a consumer who spent quite a bit of cash (CAD $400) purchased this mid-range phone from a reputable tech company via my carrier, I shouldn’t have to spend hours trying to find a solution.

Aside from the above issues, I have problems with its glorified cameras (both front and back), specifically with the auto-focus. I am sure you can take great photos with this phone in a controlled environment such as in a studio, with a stand, proper lighting, and immoveable objects. As soon as you try to take picture in real life situations - taking family photos, fun time with kids, doing selfies, the results are far more disappointing because it can’t focus right. Furthermore, photo taken indoors is just bad for most of the time.

The battery, it takes 3.5 (THREE AND HALF) hours to fully charge from 0%. A full charge last about 18 hours under light usage, I am quite surprised the battery drains faster than I have had expected.

It’s a phone that should be enjoyable as shown on its product page, but for me its not. I liked the big screen and I liked how the UI works real fast, but it just too bad most of the time it can’t work right.

My router is already setup DNS points to Google's DNS services.

I have serveral devices connected to my router they all work fine except Sony XA1 Ultra that I had.

It's the phone's software causing the problem. I sincerely hope you guys who still have the phone would get a OTA update to fix the issue.

Same problem: Bluetooth, WiFi, and data. They work for a few hours, and then I need to power cycle my phone. I do this two to three times daily.

I reached out to Sony Support, and they told me to do a factory reset. I did, and I still have the problem. Then they told me to send the phone in for repairs.

It's very sad since I have been buying Sony phones for over ten years (back when they were Sony Ericsson) . After wasting my money on this XA1 Ultra, I think it will be my last Sony.

Yep.  I have the same issue of it losing connectivity and requiring a restart in order to connect to new bluetooth devices and wifi. Disappointed that this forum hasn't offered any solutions beyond restarting.  Why isn't Sony fixing this issue?
