Bluetooth and Wifi Issues

In the last few weeks I've been experiencing frequent issues with my bluetooth and wifi.  My phone forgets my bluetooth headset and I have to resync to get it to work.  As well with my wifi it will have authentication issues with my router.  I often have to restart my phone to fix both the bluetooth and the wifi issues.

This is getting extremely frustrating.  I only bought this phone at the end of August and it's already having issues.

I have 2 Xa1 ultra phones, one for wife and one for myself. Both have been restored to factory, and have oreo (so thought that would help) but have cleared cache for BT and Midi and shut off the autoscan and still have bluetooth connectivity concern. So rediculous, she even has Sony radio in explorer and won't connect periodically. I have a Gear S3 watch that loses connectivity repeatedly. Clearly an issue with Bluetooth, is there any help out there, my phones are under warranty.

It's a very weird problem, but clearing the BT cache in the the BT and BT midi system apps definitely clears the issue for me. The problem still comes back every few days after doing this - so it's not a perfect solution. I'm hoping Sony releases a real patch to fix this sometime soon - as it's a great phone outside of this issue.

Such poor experience for first Sony phones. It's hard to tell that to my wife when all she's had in the past is a phone that has no Bluetooth issues.

Go to Settings, Apps & Notifications, App Info, tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner and select Show Sytem, look for Bluetooth and Bluetooth Midi Service, go into both and select Clear Data.

Sorry to report that it very much does apply in Android 8.0 - I've upgraded and still have the same problem

definitely not a perfect solution, takes way too long and as you say it recurs after a few days!

Please Sony fix this ASAP

Same Problem here. Car Radio wont reconnect, if you have a watch connectet. And my Headset reconnects every 15 sec. and after some reconnects the Bluetooth crashes allways.

Very disappointed with Sony - I'm having the same trouble with wifi as well.
I have a Sony XA1 Ultra (G3223) running Android 8.0.0, build 48.1.A.0.129 that was purchased in January. The phone worked fine until last week when the wifi suddenly start dropping out out daily. Doing the Airplane mode doesn't work for me nor does clearing the Bluetooth cache.  Randomly during the day, the wifi would shut off and I cannot turn it back on. I would try to slide the setting to on, but it slides back to off and the gui would just freeze.  I have to then do the [Volume Up]+[power button] for 10 seconds to get the device to re-boot.  Turning Bluetooth off does not work either (even if it did work, it's not practical since I have a smart watch and need to connect to the car.)   Not sure if this is relevant, but in the Settings>Software update>Update history, the last update installed just before my wifi started having issues was Sony's "What's New v4.1.A.0.1".

I have a Sony TV and a sound bar and both have been working great for many years, that's why I bought the Sony phone because of their quality and support...how disappointing!!

Sony, PLEASE fix this issue IMMEDIATELY!!!  You are losing customers and you won't get us back if this is not resolved in a timely basis.
