That's great news that Tomayer I have been in touch with the Xperia care  team,  I got a quick response but they weren't any help just gave me the info I already had ie turn the phone off and on, uninstall and re-install the app which you can't do or reset the phone. Not done that yet as it can be a bit risky with data etc   I've only been getting this problem since the update to Android 8 so surely the fault lies there   Tomayer have you only been having this issue since the update ?

Absolutly the same. Everythink works finde before the update to android 8.

Ich also rebooted the System and cleared the cache of file App. Nothing helps.

Did you check if the app has all the required permissions? Go to Settings -> Apps & notifications -> App info -> find the file manager app -> review permissions

Yes, I checked the permissions but "Files" is a system app and I cannca change anything.

In settings - apps -... stands: no permisson requested.

Try Google's new app called Files Go, it's a file manager and cache cleaner in one app.

Nearby the same problem.

When i try to open files or copy files from internal to SD card crashes the app.

Also the same for total commander

i am suffering the same issue since the latest update.

storage manager just keeps crashing or restarting.

must be an issue with the update that we as users can do nothing about to fix.

the fix must come from Sony via an update.

so come one Sony- sort it out.!!
