An easier way to install the Backup & Restore app

download the apk on your computer, send it to yourself through email, make sure you send it to your Gmail

now on your phone

go to settings -> applications -> check unknown sources

wait for the email, once  you get the email, open it, and instead of downloading the attachment it will allow you to install it, voila, done

Updated firmware from

http://dl-www.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1/110/61/1309763183/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.7.13.exe

Running on the  4.0.2.A.0.58 firmware  and its very stable now for almost 2 days so far so good hope this resolves the issue.

Running and scdeduled back up after each software update its seems to be stable now no issues so far battery back up is almost 1.5 days fairly good .

A big thanks to uliwooly this issue is resolved You rock .

one question can this be rooted using the zergRush method to add custom ringtones and files it that recommended or will that cause any stablity issues on the phone Please suggest if there is any other stable firmware for the ARC S that is fast, stable and lite weight.
