WiFI NOT Working on ICS

I'm using a Sony Xperia U, with ICS. Since I ran OFFICIAL ICS update on my phone, I cant connect to the internet through WiFi. Signal strength is good. Connection is stable. But it just dont transfer data packets.

I did some googling and I found out its the most common issue with Xperia U ICS.

Please find a solution for this.

Thanks

Hi, I assumed you'd asked this Slightly_smiling_Face

1) Download the flashtool if you aint got it: http://androxyde.github.com/

2) Download the ICS C.0 from here: https://hotfile.com/dl/182433042/18e...obile.ftf.html

This is all you need to flash your phone.

Other files from that tutorial, and explanation i give further is for rooting the Xperia U (gaining administrative privileges for adding, deleting, editing system files or/and using applications that require root access)!

If you don't wanna root your phone you don't need to download any of the files provided!

The kernel is provided if you wanna root your phone after you flash the 6.1.1.c.1.10 firmwire.

To be more specific, you can only root your phone with the old kernel, so basically what you do is flashing the latest firmwire, than flash only the older kernel, you root your phone with binary v13, and then you flash back the newest c.1.10 kernel to your phone. So you're using the old kernel just to root your phone and after that you return the newest kernel by flashing it.

Hey bro!

Now I got ur point. My phone is already rooted, I guess it will be unrooted when I flash my phone. So, I will root it again. Anyway, Thansk a lot for ur help. sorry for asking questions over and over again Slightly_smiling_Face

That's right.

Use binary v13 to root your phone... i've never tried rooting with flashtool Slightly_smiling_Face

If you weren't using binary before i'll give you a little tip Slightly_smiling_Face

It will ask you to do a fake restore to your phone (inserting the SuperSU app), so you'll have to select restore twice (I think) on your phone. First time i've tried I didn't noticed that my phone asked to do a restore and I was thinking it's not working Winking_Face

So, basically what you need to do is:

1) Flash the c.1.10 firmwire (and after your first boot enable USB Debugging again)

2) Flash the old kernel b.1.10

3) Start your phone, enable USB debugging, connect your phone and root it with Binary v13 (select normal mode)

4) Flash the c.1.10 kernel back

5) Resset Settings... and that's it

Of course.

The app isn't built in... so you can remove as any other application from play store.

The boot animation is located in /system/media/bootanimation.zip

So, you can replace it using some play store application or do it manually!

If you don't want the stock one you can also, download some animation to your phone and replace the old one... but you'll need to root your phone first in matter to replace the animation manually!

If you want the stock animation without downloading new one, just follow these steps and delete the T-Mobile logo picture from bootanimation.zip and replace the old zip file.

1) Copy the bootanimation.zip file to PC (I think you must copy to your Internal Phone Memory first with some file explorer...).

2) Extract it.

3) T-Mobile logo is in ani5 folder (it's just one picture) and delete the picture

4) Select all the folders and files that were in the zip archive before, right click and select "add to archive" and check settings like in the picture.

5) Then, copy the modified bootanimation to your phone memory... and then replace the /system/media/bootanimation.zip with the one you  just copied to your phone.

-For replacing the zip file you gonna need some good explorer like Solid Explorer or ES Explorer WITH a root access.

For your shutdown animation...

You need to go to /system/etc/customization/content/com/sonyericsson/shutdownanim

and replace/delete the shutdown.mp4 file.

There are many animations on internet, so you can find and replace the t-mobile one.

However, you'll need root access and a file explorer with root access to do this manually

All you need to know is the files directories... so from that point on, you can practically do what ever you want... delete, modify, replace...

Can you please tell something more about?

Is there some kind of error showed up or?

You do the rooting on 6.1.1.b.1.10 kernel, after this you can flash back the new kernel. It'll not work if you want to root 6.1.1.c.1.10 directly.

So, please provide more info, or do some screenshots if needed.

i rooted to the old version 1st. worked. (colors were incorerct after that - no errors

then i rooted into new version. (colors back to normal - no errors.) -- phone restarts as norm○7l. unrooted

then i tried v18 (no errors - everything goes normally, phone restarts, unrooted though)

I don't quite understand what you did...

You don't root the new version of c.1.10 kernel.

1) You flash the whole firmwire.

2) Flash the old b.1.10 kernel

3) You root this kernel

4) shut down your phone and flash the c.1.10 kernel (only the kernel not whole firmwire)

5) you do nothing more, except settings reset

This is what you need to flash after rooting Untitled.png
