I'm using a Sony Xperia U, with ICS. Since I ran OFFICIAL ICS update on my phone, I cant connect to the internet through WiFi. Signal strength is good. Connection is stable. But it just dont transfer data packets.
I did some googling and I found out its the most common issue with Xperia U ICS.
Please find a solution for this.
Thanks

this is wht I did.
1. Flashed da whole firmware using flashTool. (used Xperia U ST25i_6.1.1.C.1.0_T-Mobile.ftf)
2. Restarted da phone and flashed into this kernal (used Xperia U_ICS 4.0.4 kernel_nu.ftf)
3. Restarted again and flashed the kernal again (used Xperia u_6.1.1.C.1.0_Tmobile.kernel.ftf )
after step 2: there were issues with phone's colors (everything was black-ish)
There were no errors in any step.
I didnt do a settings reset though (whats that?)
That's right... But you need to do the rooting between step 2 and 3
You do step 3 after you root the phone with binary... and then you go to Settings -> Backup & Reset -> Settings Reset
Wifi working fine for me !!
Hi,
After flashing the kernel 6.1.1.C.1.0 the wifi worked correctly but now (after about 2 weeks) the same problem appears.
So this is not the solution !
I hope that Sony will fix the problem quickly.
Best regards,
alain.
