ICS Phonebook in Xperia Ray

Is it just me or it is much harder and confusing to manage contacts with current phonebook  4.0 android? The Infinite view looks kinda boring and im having problem getting my contact's status update to show up in it. Does anyone have the same problem/ opinion and idea to solve this??

I also searched to edit contacts as in GB. I couldn't find it. After few hours I updated contacts. I forgot that MENU button..:smileyhappy:

Hi, The infinite view is pretty much the same as of Gingerbread ( So what's boring )

So facing problems with facebook updates in contacts ?

Turn on wifi

Go to settings > account and sync > turn it on

Add account > add facebook and facebook inside Xperia as well

wait for atleast 5 minutes and let the contacts sync

Now go to contacts > settings > select show status updates > all

See how it goes

Yeah, i think its kinda simillar to Gingerbread version in term of how it works. But i love how the contact picture before was set as a background and you can swipe through facebook, message, and other info  while still looking at the contact picture. (especially my girlfriend =P).

But the ICS version, you can only see a small thumbnail of the contact picture and only at the top, which i found it boring.. Anyhow, i like how you can set multiple pics for the contacts. 😃

Btw, the option for "show status update" is unselectable, mybe because i didnt turn on auto sync. It drains more battery right? Thanks though for replying.

I never used auto sync before, mind if someone explain how it actually works? What kind of information it syncs?

Yes , battery backup reduces

"Show status update" would be selectable only if you select auto sync

Auto sync just syncs all data from facebook, twitter, whats app etc etc ( any other service you elect) to your mobile.

Try it once, you will come to know......

You could see updates ( facebook status ) from your friends in your conatcts list

You can directly see their pictures and etc etc from contacts,, its great

I already activate auto sync (for the very first time), and the show status update option still unselectable. What seem to be the problem?

you have to sync atleast for 4-5 minutes,, both "facebook" and "facebook inside xperia"

even make sure you log in into facebook and even select "sync" option that it shows at startup and use facebook for one minute

How to enable auto sync?

My facebook contacts are showing without profile picture. I have deleted facebook data and then synchronised it again. All facebook contacts were imported with their details, but profile picture not updated.

Please help.

Settings > accounts and sync > slide the off button to on it

then add account > facebook > see

let it sync for 2-3 m,inutes
