Gingerbread in Croatia

I bought and using Xperia P in Croatia, but I'm not getting any info by the mobile or the PC Companion application about the update to Gingerbread. PC Companion says that my Phone is up to date. How to get the update available message?

the update it's not GB it's ICS, you have to wait until it's released in your country, if your phone is or was locked to a network it's up to them to release it

Thanks again, but I prefer to wait for the Official update. My device is new and I don't want to loose the warranty. I'm also reading that right now the ICS is causing many problems to the Xperia P (wifi, screen, battery, etc.) so, honestly, I would prefer to wait little bit. My Xperia P works perfectly by now...and I love it!  😉

I just tried and it seems in fact working...! The Sony Update Center detected an update and it started to prepare the update ... I stopped it right now (I closed the web page), because I wanted to ask you if the update is SAFE! I mean, as before written on this topic, that I read about many issues related to the updated (battery use, wifi disconnecting, display problems, etc.) therefore I'm not sure if it's the right moment to update ... or maybe I'm wrong? My Xperia P works really good (never had a problem so far) so I would not mess it up! Thanks again for helping.

Of course it's safe. Why do you think Sony would release something that it isn't safe?!

And yes You are wrong, all these 'many issues' happens to minority of users. Most of the issues appear because Xperia mobile memory wasn't wiped durign (or prior to) update.

No one can garanty you that You won't have some issues after update (and there are some new bugs, while old ones are solved) but If you wipe the phone and make the update, it's likely that You will have no problem same as now with GB, and Your phone will be much faster, and longer battery life (with no battery saving programs installed).
