Z5 Premium; Headphone Jack does not Auto-Detect after last update

I've had this issue since the last update/build.  When I plug in headphones, it does not auto-detect and sound continues to come out of the phone speakers.

This is NOT hardware related.  I downloaded 'Sound About' and I can manually turn on my headphone jack and it works fine that way.  But the auto-detect still doesn't work.  This is definitly software related.

I tried this with a dozen headphones and the issue persists.

Hi @AzimB,

I am sorry to hear that.

Could you try to reboot the device in safe mode to see if it persists there as well? In case it does, I would suggest that you try a software repair using Xperia Companion.

I Have the same issue. After restart the app headphones detects, but if I turn off them or stop playing music they disappears again. And I should restart phone once again.

I'm sorry to hear that @OlgaPenkrat,

Could you try what I suggested in my previous post as well?

Will the software-repair reset my phone?

Hi @AzimB, I am sorry for the late reply.

Yes, performing a software repair using Xperia Companion will delete all locally stored data, so I strongly suggest creating a backup using Xperia Companion prior to repairing the software.

@Anish98 and @Illicit, did you have the opportunity to try to see if the same occurs in safe mode, and a software repair if the safe mode did not help?

Keep me updated regarding how it went!

Yes I did try it in safe mode and the same thing happened. I'm not sure if it is hardware or software. But I tried it with sound about and it did work.

If the above suggestions did not help, then I recommend that you get in touch with your Local support in order to be assisted in sending the device to an authorized service center. Once there, a service technician can have a look at your device and find the root of the behaviour.
