Hello,

According the Android 6 and 7 source code (class TelephonyRegistry.java), there is a new intent called "android.intent.action.SUBSCRIPTION_PHONE_STATE" which contains a "subscription" extra field, which contains the number of the SIM card on which the call is ringing.

Sony, please adapt your applications to use this new intent, and restore this functionality.

Thanks in advance,

Best regards,

metatech

I postponed the upgrade to 6.0 because of the missing ringtone setting for sim1 and sim2. Finally upgraded a month ago. Now I realize how much I miss and need the feature. What the community could do is email sony in great numbers after the 7.0 is released and request a come back of the feature.

Keeping Sony informed that this feature is required!

What a disappointment it was to realize that new Nougat update was not restoring feature which competitor's have all the time there (even with Marshmallow).

Sony, can you please confirm you are still working on this and it will be restored?

You have to remember there are a lot of people who bought their phone with this feature.

For me I just want to have possibility to turn off ringtone of my work SIM when I'm not at work (but still receive all calls as a missed calls) and keep private SIM ringtone on. This is very very basic feature for dual SIM phone, do you agree?

For professional reasons, I had to buy another mobile, (Asus Zenfone 3 dual sim ZE520KL). Delivered under Android5.1.1, it has been upgraded in Android M 6.0.1. I confirm that in the settings of the phone, one can choose a different ring for sim 1 and another for sim 2.
So it is Sony that locks this feature and not Android as they try to make us believe.

Could you PLEASE go and fix this issue? It's a true pain for people who bought your Dual Sim phones!!

According the Android 6 and 7 source code (class TelephonyRegistry.java), there is a new intent called "android.intent.action.SUBSCRIPTION_PHONE_STATE" which contains a "subscription" extra field, which contains the number of the SIM card on which the call is ringing.

In the mean time, a perfectly working workaround is to use "Automate" app from LlamaLab (as of version 1.6) to change the ringtone on-the-fly when an incoming call happens : you can specify a "subscription ID" with the SIM card to use.

Regards.
